afaik, di mo na kailangang i change or itransfer to your name yung mismong comprehensive policy.

what they do, if you have an accident (cross my fingers that you don't...), is that they will just ask for the actual policy that is with you, kasi ang important dun is yung car information (like chassis/engine #s). they will just ask you for a copy of the deed of sale if needed.

during the renewal of the registration, which is after 12 months from the issuance, pwede mo na syang ilagay under your name, or you can just get a new comprehensive insurance coverage from another insurance company, which is under your name...

Hope you guys could help me on this....

Already bought a 2nd hand car na may open deed of sale from someone sa tingin ko nagbuy n sell although may story na lang na kelangan ng pera. Pinacheck ko photocopy OR sa LTO pasig (CR is in muntinlupa) and nagtanong TMG before ko binili (ok raw).

After buying the car pina TMG ko clear naman with printout na. The orig CR is blue (encumbered) with clearance of chatel mortgage naman (also checked with the bank) and may OR from 2005. Problem is, when I was going through the papers given to me by the seller, I came across a xerox copy of CR na hindi encumbered and 2004 OR and when I checked the orig blue CR may nakita ako nakalagay previous CR# and the number is the one on the xerox CR. Nagtataka ako ngayon baket ganyan? The date on the orig blue CR is one month after ng date nasa xerox CR. Possible ba may nangyari or kalokohan na nagawa?

The name of the owner is the same on all docs, pati motor number chassis number. may TMG clearance nako but di ko pa nalalakad actual transfer of ownership sa LTO muntinlupa, hope someone can clarify ano possible nangyari.... thanks in advance!

I just processed the transfer of ownership of my car last week. Madali lang pala and di naman pala mahal. Tip lang po, huwag niyo ipa-process sa mga tao (fixers) na lalapit sa inyo sa gate pa lang ng Pasig kapitolyo. They normally charge 700 to 800 for the PNP-TMG Vehicle Clearance. Huwag din po maniwala sa mga sinasabi nung mga fixer doon na requirement na dapat may bagong TPL insurance ka before pwedeng kumuha ng TMG Vehicle Clearance. Dami po ako nakasabay doon na pinabili ng TPL. eto po yung mga binayaran ko:

* PNP-TMG
- PNP-TMG Vehicle Clearance Php 300.00 (to be paid at Landbank. Add Php 50.00 if you want their runner to pay the fee for you at Landbank).
- Optional "Rush" Fee Php 400.00 (kung gusto mo makuha ang clearance in a few hours. Kung di ka magbabayad ng Rush Fee, after 3 days ang release ng clearance. Ako, di ako nagbayad)

*LTO
- TPL Insurance Php 740.00 (optional ito. if you have a TPL insurance already, pagawa ka lang ng endorsement letter)
- Legal Research Fund Php 10.00
- Transfer of Ownership Fee Php 50.00 (kung more than 1 month na ang date ng Deed of Sale mo, Transfer Fee would be Php 200)
- Computer Fee Php 132.00

what do you mean? 3 years na nasa inyo yung oto pero di pa sya na che-change ng ownership sa inyo? afaik, walang effect yan, so wala ka pa ring babayaran except for the regular and normal fees. ngayon kung hindi sya na-rerehistro ng 3 years na, eh ibang usapan na yun. hehehehe.

walang relationship yung address ng TMG sa pagpapagawa ng change of ownership. but you have to do it at the LTO office where the car was last registered. Example. kung yung last registration nung oto is sa las pinas, and taga QC ka. then you have to do the change of ownership sa las pinas muna. dun mo na rin pa-rehistro. the next year ng rehistro mo, pwede ka na dun sa LTO office nearest and most convenient to your place. babayad ka lang ng change of venue.

*jeff: yes... dun nga sya sa branch ng lto mo kung ano nakasulat sa CR ipapatransfer. after you've just performed the transfer. dun mo pa lang pwede ipa-register sa lto office na malapit sa iyo.

pero walang additional cost yan. walang penalty. normal charges should be paid.

kaka transfer ko lang ng ownership ng car ko. Sa LTO (Shaw Blvd), merong sign sa wall ng cashier na kapag more than 1 month na yung Deed of Sale mo Php 200.00 na ang fee nila. Kung 1 month lang Php 50.00 naman ang fee. Yung isang car ko nga 6 yrs na di ko pa rin na transfer yung ownership to my name.

Sa TMG kailangan ang TIN dun sa form na i-accomplish, though I'm not sure kung strict sila about it. But if you have one, then no problem.

hindi na yata kailangan ng tmg clearance.

sa camp karingal ako nagpa clearance for transfer of ownership and change color 400 binayaran ko sa landbank plus 100 affidavit for change color. kaso sa macro etching ang daming lagay/hingi 100 each for the 3 inspectors and 100 dun sa nag stencil plus 500 para makuha in 1hr yung clearance. tapos sa pasay lto 2.9k binayaran ko (rehistro, transfer of ownership, and change color) yung insurance 975 and 550 for emission.
