Hitman and the guys who requested yung procedures ng change of ownership (as i have been through last wednesday):

    a) Kuha ng request for change of ownership clearance sa TMG.
    b) Bayaran yung fee (200 pesos) sa landbank branch. landbank will issue receipt and validates the clearance request form.
    c) balik ka ng tmg.
    d) pakita mo yung clearance request tsaka yung receipt from landbank
    e) pa stencil mo motor and chassis
    f) submit stenciler's report sa physical inspection. (under TMG-Crimelab)
    g) parak assigned sa Crimelab will make macro-etching report
    h) after completion of macro-etching report, submit report to clearance area.
    i) wait for clearance release (eto eh kung may padulas ka). pag wala, go get your clearance after 3 days. ( i made lagay na dahil hindi na ako makakaabsent ulit after 3 days)
    j) after release of clearance, tapos na. you have to use the clearance within 10 days. dahil 10 days lang vailidity nya. meaning, you have to go to LTO to perform a change of ownership within 10 days.

average time of procedure : 3 hours. can be lower. na late kasi yung chief ng tmg sa patts last wednesday eh. baka na traffic sa baclaran.

registration with change of ownership procedure (should be done at lto branch where vehicle is previously registered, in my case, i went from tmg-pasay to manila south, which is lampas ng pedro gil, manila - san marcelino corner nakpil street)

    a) have your car stencilled (again)
    b) have your insurance (tpl) certificate validated
    c) submit documents, including receipts of landbank (for clearance), smoke emission certificate, yung tmg request for clearance tsaka yung actual clearance. syempre, it should include the deed of sale and yung old or/cr.
    d) after being found in order, ilalabas ng lto yung old vehicle file. ivavalidate yun ng inspector.
    e) after validation, papers will be processed.
    f) just wait until name is called sa cashier.
    g) after name is called, pay cashier
    h) wait for the new CR to be released
    i) get stickers.

average time of procedure (alang lagay): 2.5 hours.

    happy gilmore,
    salamat sa info! 8)

    additional questions:
    1. how much ang nagastos mo in total (including padulas) sa change of ownership and registration?

    2. anong oras ang the best time pumunta sa TMG?

    3. saan yung location ng TMG? directions please..

    maraming salamat, bro! 8)

    a) padulas is sa TMG lang. 200 pesos lang. para mahintay ko lang yung release ng clearance. kasi pag hindi ko ginawa ito, i will still have to go back for the clearance after 3 days and i can't really afford to be absent from work. hindi ako nagpadulas sa LTO.

    b) mas maaga mas maganda. they open shop at around 8 am, although in my case, nagopen sila around 830 A.M.

    c) yun yung compound ng LTO-Pasay South sa tapat ng PATTS School of Aeronautics sa Domestic Road. Coming from Sucat Road, you turn right sa Domestic Road instead of going straight ahead papuntang Coastal Road/Roxas Boulevard. You will see the LTO-Pasay Compound at the left, as in directly infront of PATTS. Yung TMG office eh nasa dulo ng compound. (straight lang naman yun eh)

    Short answer: NO.

Haba ng process ng change ownership ng deceased owner. Haba paperworks tapos kailangan ipublish sa dyaryo na may nagcclaim ng kotse.

After paying all the necessary and taxes and publishing the notice sa dyaryo, thats the only time pwede transfer.

Or... gawa ka deed of sale. Pagawa mo sa kakilala mo na notaryo. transfer mo muna sayo yung kotse. Then kapag natransfer na, tsaka mo benta.

When buying a 2nd hand car, are you required to have it transferred to your name even though you don't have plan to sell it in the future?

Or better to have an open deed of sale for case like this, for future flexibility?

Open deed of sale ba means buyer detail is blank as well as the date of transaction?

    Thanks.

If I were your seller, I would require you to register the sale with LTO so that in their record, I'd no longer be the registered owner. That way, if the car is involved in an accident or crime, the police wouldn't be looking for me but for you.

If I were to buy the car that you bought from a third party who still stands as the registered owner, I'd require you to first register the sale from the third party to you. I wouldn't want to be confronted with the situation where I may encounter a problem with registering the sale from you to me all because there's a problem with the first sale. So if I were you and so I would have easy flowing sale transaction, I'd register the sale now.

MP, one quick question. is there really a procedure in the LTO about this sale registration that you mentioned? you know, i bought and sold pre-owned cars before but I have never come across this process. thank you.
