March 25th, 2007 07:07 PM #781Check ko lang kung tama ang intindi ko. You have a 12 inch Sony sub that can handle 1300 watts or your amp puts out 1300 watts? And is it RMS or peak/max power? They are different, the short explanation is: Peak/max power is the maximum bloated power they want you to think it will pump out. While, RMS is the actual power its supposed to deliver.
You base capacitor size, called "capacitance" (if I remember correctly) on your amps total RMS power.
I suspect you have Sony amp that has max rating of 1200 watts. Tama ba?Last edited by userfriendly; March 25th, 2007 at 07:10 PM.

March 26th, 2007 08:50 AM #783Is this your amp? http://www.cardomain.com/item/MTX4244 If that's it, you got a very nice, good quality amp. That amp is underrated, meaning it will pump out more watts than what its rating says.
I suggest you use your channel 1 and 2 to power your fronts and bridge 3 and 4 to power your sub. Power your rear with the HU or even do away with it. This way your fronts will get around 60 watts and your sub will get over 200 watts. Guess lang since this amp is underrated. That amp should give you more than enough power.
Alternatively, you can power your front and rear with CH 1 and 2. This will give your amp a 2 ohm load and you'll get over 90 watts. However, if you have a normal sized car, your rear speakers will tend to sound too loud.

March 26th, 2007 09:59 PM #785For me, the MTX wins over the V12 anytime. That is if its the Korea or Taiwan V12. If original Alpine then it might be a different story.
Your MTX is a complete 4 channel amp in the sense that it has built in crossovers, bridgable, 2 ohm stable and has enough power for your system.
Try to use your MTX 1st, kung bitin ka sa bass, then you can add another amp. This way you don't spend if you don't need to. But if you really want a 2nd amp, get one that will give you more than the 200 watts the MTX will pump out (bridged mode).
For everyday listening, 200 watts is plenty. My amp thats underrated, is only supposed to give my sub 100 watts. Its good enough for me. However, if you are a bass head or building a SPL sysytem, then you will need more power and possibly more subs.
Anyway, what is the power handling capacity of your Sony sub, in RMS?

So what's wrong with increased coolant concentration? The cooling capacity mostly comes from water,...
