The idiots in MMDA don't seem to cut it. I think they don't even personally drive on the roads they are governing on a daily basis. They come up with sorry excuses for traffic rules that don't even work. First the 24/7 truck ban and now the 2 days a week number coding. There aren't even that many trucks running on Edsa, and people will just simply buy more cars so as to not be affected by the number coding. Now, why is it that many other countries, or even other cities like Davao and Cebu have much better traffic conditions despite not having number coding at all? Are the buses and jeepney operators that untouchable, that they can't do anything about them? Many of them are boarding and letting off passengers at the middle of the street, some are running with barely any passengers on board, and many of the city buses and jeepneys drive their vehicles as if they were sports cars. Not to mention that most of them are smoke belching too. I don't think MMDA even has the heart to properly manage Metro Manila traffic at all.

gawin nalang nilang literal ang color coding, a certain day that a color (regardless of shade) won't be allowed to travel. tignn natin kung hindi lumuwag ang mga araw na bawal ang white, silver at black.

Won't matter to people who have 2 cars or more.

And a lot already have 2 cars or more on their garage.

Instead of this, why not LESSEN the buses that run through EDSA since their number is more than what EDSA can handle anyway ?

Bakit parati private people ang pinapahamak, hindi yung PUVs, eh in truth, sila naman talaga abala?
Tatamaan din kahit marami kotse mo, kung natuloy yan wala kaming kotse every friday. My dad, brother and I all have two cars each, 7 and 8 ang ending, so yehey commute kami lahat sa friday.

Oh I forgot, request pa yun mga numbers, nagbayad ako para ako maperwisyo.

As long as hindi magkasunod ang coding days mo, you can do away with 2 cars. eg 1 and 7. Pwede i alternate.

This scheme will just have us buying more cars, really idiotic
    nakikinig ka ng counterflow no?

pero this actually makes sense. tamaan na yung mga tatamaan pero kung ma-channel nang mabuti yung maipong funds to create efficient public transportation, we'll really have no more need to use our own cars.

Gano ba karaming tao ang kayang bumili ng extra car para lang sa coding? Yung usapan dito parang ang dali bumili eh

There are only about 3 million private cars in the country, so even if you assign a 1:1 ratio of car and owner, napakakonti pa rin ng may sasakyan, and among that number, even fewer can afford more than one.

But even then, private cars far outnumber PUVs, whose total number doesn't even reach a million. This is why tinatarget yung private. Ultimately mas malaki naman talaga traffic nacacause ng private cars - driving on EDSA during rush hour, I find that it's faster when I step into the yellow lane than to stay in the inner lanes. Not saying that hindi sagabal ang PUV, cuz they are, especially the buses. It's just na mahirap rin makita na as a whole, sagabal din ang private motorists considering they use up that much space on the road yet ferry very few people.

If you take that into proportion, assuming a private car has 1.5 people on board on average, ano bang mas nakakacause ng traffic, 40 cars or 1 bus? Kahit law abiding yung kotse at barumbado yung bus, mas malaki pa rin effect ng ganun karaming sasakyan.

Kawawa pa yung mga nag car loan dahil hirap na sa public transpo. Hindi maximised yung car.

I rarely traverse EDSA. How horrible is it? Wala na bang hrs na maluwag? It seems like for Tolentino e sa EDSA lang may traffic. Kinalimutan na ibang roads.

Tanggalin mo yung 160 cars sa picture, wala nang traffic from Boni to Guada bridge.

To be clear, while the end goal is to reduce private cars, an intermediary step is to fix the public transpo system first. Kumbaga bago mo palipatin mga tao from private to public, ayusin muna yung lilipatan.

Southbound is bad from about 7:30am til 10am. Northbound is bad from 5pm til about 9:30 pm.

In between those two times, moderate. Past 11 but before 7, quite light.
