old article way back 2003 related to turning the hazard lights on or not
Driving in a Downpour - Automotive Technology and Road Safety by AutoIndustriya.com
IMHO hindi siya bad habit either good habit pa kase binibigyan mo ng warning yung ibang road users either pedestrian or motor vehicle na gusto mo umatras para alam nila at aware sila kase mahirap na baka sabihin nila pag naatrasan mo sila na hindi mo sila nainform, pananagutan mo sila.
In one sense, it's correct. It shows that your vehicle in particular is a hazard to others since it is not moving in the same direction as the traffic at the same speed. It also makes the car more visible when it is backing up into traffic from its parking spot. But it isn't necessary at all times, and it doesn't excuse you from exercising due diligence when backing up onto the road.
Personally, I prefer parking facing out. Don't need to use the hazards or a parking boy to leave the spot then. Thankfully, as we've come a long way since the smoggy 70's, fewer and fewer establishments and guards enforce the stupid "park facing wall" rule, anymore.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
hahaha, ayup gid.
BTT: My take is that like dr. d, soeone bacing should exercise patience in a sense na ikaw nakikiusap na pasingitin ka sa regular flow of traffic kasi your backing up.
For the most part,- arguably, backing up practically translates to you being a hazard on the road, because you will be 'against the flow of traffic' any which way you go.
Anyway, if you turn on your hazard lights,- you can park anywhere, right?.... Deym!:hysterical:

pag gabi tapos ma ulan, masakit sa mata yung mga naka ON yung hazzard lights.....
sa Japan, if naka temporary parking (unloading of cargo) and backing up, nag hazard din sila. I guess doon natin natutunan yung use ng hazard light when backing up and sa ating "temporary" parking.
using hazard lights while backing up sa parking, maybe to make their car more visible. student or novice drivers do this often. i don't find it a nuisance. whatever makes you feel safer, just remember to turn it off afterwards.
I use hazard lights while parking if the parking slots are on a public road (on street parallel parking, bay parking in tomas morato, etc.). However if the slots are inside a parking lot or building, I deem the unnecessary.
In stop and go traffic though,- io-on ko ang hazard lights,- just for the f.... moron.,- tapos kung nakatigil kami,- ipapasok ko pa sa reverse... T.... mo,- G*go! - minsan- todo busina ang mga mokong [Remember - I am half good at best!]

Limang brake lights (all full bright),- 2 hazard lights at 2 reverse lights...
Motor at tricyle,- marami ring bal*svb*s....
Sorry OT na po....
