    Tsikoters,
How long will it take to have a New Plate number from LTO?
I purchased a brand new toyota at the Toyota Ortigas branch last March 15, 2007 and up to now i still have no plate yet. I would like to ask how long does it take for a license plate to be available coz it's been 3 months now that i've been waiting. I tried to follow up about this and they reasoned out that there was a prob w/ the machine that makes the plate in LTO. I have a plate ending request.....does it really take longer if we request for special plate ending?
I am out of the country at the moment and I will be home next week...Baka hindi ko magamit ang sasakyan...one month lang ang bkasyon ko..
Our SA is in the hospital right now..my wife is trying to contact the manager of Ortigas branch..kaso parang wala pa?
Ano pa ba ang magandang gawin?

    TIA

Me too... I also have my OR/CR and LTO provided an authorization letter stating that the car can be used even without the plate given that the driver has this. But I had a very thrilling or shall we say nkakainis/nkakabwisit na story re this.
Last Wednesday at around 2am, when we were driving back home along Osmena road, one of the policemen asked us to pull over and we were questioned re travelling without plate, and so we showed them our OR/CR and explained that the problem was with LTOs plant and that they weren't able to issue plates for quite some time. He asked for my husband's license while saying that we should have done a temporary plate where the temporary number given printed on it and then told us to wait while he goes to their outpost. From there, I felt that they wanted sumthng, and so I told my hubby not to follow them, and wait in the car since I'm very confident that we have the necessary documents to travel. And when he went back he told my husband "Sir, pakitingin nga, mukhang tinitiketan na kau ng opisyal namin." Before going down, I told my husband not to negotiate with certain amount of money. Several minutes (I guess that was more or less 10mins) later my husband went back with the ticket in his hand, saying that they were insisting that we should have done a temporary plate, I read again the authorization and saw that there was a line which goes something like the authorization when carried by the driver is sufficient enough to comply to RA sumthng which gives us permission to use the car. So he went back and then I decided to follow, the officer was broad and tall and his voice is nakakatakot but then I know we're in the position to argue so I tried talking but then he started talking with his loud voice that we should not travel and pointing to the author. I'm holding "use improvise plate number" and then I said, "Sir, there was no plate written, it just said that use the improvise number, there is nothing written about making an improvised plate number and use it for the meantime", but then he's insisting the same crap. I again said "Pls listen also, it was written here that the authorization when carried by the driver is sufficient enough to travel". But he still continued to repeat what his point was and also said that we can sue him if we want to. And seeing its useless to argue with this officer, we just drove home with the ticket. I told our agent bout this and was demanding them to do something bout this as it was LTOs fault why the plates were still not available, and given that they provided an authorization, some of the officers are not honoring this. But then, according to them, they do not have control over this, but mentioned that this has happened to another car owner and on the same spot, just not sure if same officer.
And so, this problem of ours, has not yet been resolved, but I would really like to pursue contesting this thing.
So guys, ingatz na lang sa mga dumadaan sa checkpoint sa Osmena

I believe LTO itself has an adjudication procedure for contested tickets. If you feel strongly about it, why not go ahead? Sometimes those guys just don't know what they're doing, relying on their superiors' verbal instructions who in turn just rely on broad memoranda.

sa sobrang tagal ng plates ko over 1 and a half months of waiting, pull out ko "plate release copy" ko from the dealer, after 3days may plate nako; i asked someone to get my plates sa LTO NCR (bagsakan daw ng mga new plates)... but i have to get the sticker sa dealer ko pa ulit.

    Hi All!

My brother experienced this when he got his new car early this year.

The car sat at the garage for like 3 months or so before he got his plates.

He had to ask a friend with connections to help him out or else he still wouldn't have gotten them.

One of our drivers at the office told me that when one of our newer delivery vehicles was just acquired, we also had difficulty getting a plate.

When my boss grew impatient and suspected foul play, he went to one of his acquaintances at the LTO, they convoyed with him and his escort to another office where his acquiaintance spoke with the people there.

When his acquaintance came back they were led by an employee of the office to a room with a big storage cabinet.

They opened the said cabinet to reveal a whole sh!t load of license plates just sitting there.

My boss was told to choose one he liked and the it will be issued.

They brought the plates back a few minutes after the choice was made.

    Go figure.

    :regards:

Dito sa LTO Tarlac, sangkatutak din mga plate numbers. The LTO personnel told me na ang mga dealers daw talaga ang nagpapatagal sa pagrelease ng plates because sinasabay nila ang pagprocess sa mga new car releases nila.
