Are you asking what is the best brand of motor oil? The answer is subjective and will vary among many users, preferring one brand over the other. IMO, what is important is the viscosity rating and for our hot climate here in the Philippines, I would recommend a 10W-40 weight oil with an API rating of SL, SM or SN. A 5W-30 or 5W-40 is also recommended.

I usually have my oil changed at my nearest suking Shell or Petron station. I bring my own preferred oil and filter, I just pay for the labor charges.

Regarding oil filters, the original one from the casa is good but I prefer Baldwin which is ironically cheaper (from my supplier) and at the same time offers better filtration. For Innovas, BT223 is used but a larger one can be fitted (BT243).

Here's a thread about different oil filters that you can browse through.

    http://tsikot.com/forums/engine-fuel...filters-81518/

You may consult OLX for it, there are many sellers there. My BT223 cost P300.00...but my Innova is the gas variant. Just inquire what Baldwin model fits the diesel variant just to be sure.

New owner here. Tanong ko lang, normal lang ba pag nasa ON position pa lang yung susi, may warning sa dash na check engine, oil, etc.. then pag ini-start, nawawala naman yun warning lights?

yespo.. that's normal. mamamatay yan in a few seconds.
abnormal kung hindi mamatay, at abnormal kapag hindi umilaw nang ilang segundo yang mga icons na yan.

hindi ko rin binasa ang manual. but i just assumed that it was normal, because my unit was brand knew then, 10 years ago. awa ng Diyos, wala namang bumagsak na piyesa..

I think Purpose po nyan is to ensure na indicator lights are working. So kung Hindi umilaw, possible busted or walang power supply dito.

Sirs, verify ko lang po. Warranty is different from insured, right? Yung nabili ko po kasi is mageexpire na ang insurance and warranty(3yr) this June. Question is, if kukuha ako ng insurance, is it required na sa casa lang pwede magparepair kung time comes maaksidente? Also, may mga PMS pa ba yan? Then since wala nang warranty pero insured pa rin, Hindi ba mavovoid ang insurance if magpapakabit ako ng accessorries, etc. Sa labas? Thanks

warranty is for vehicle breakdown. some parts are included; others, like wear and tear, are not included. and after 3 years (depending on brand), all bets are off. wala nang warranty of any sort.

insurance is for accidents, including fender-benders with other vehicles, vandalism, acts of somnolence involving only the driver (nabangga ang gate, nag-kissing scene with the wall, etc), or vehicle drowning (the so-called acts of God clause).

most insurance companies have a listing of "approved fixit shops" that the customer may choose from.
and i believe casa insurance allows only casa-authorized repair, either casa or out-sourced.

if still under warranty, and you want to have accessories installed, better you inquire from the casa first, lest your warranty be voided, in part, or in its totality.
if you have expensive accessories and you want them included in the insurance coverage, you must register them with the insurance agency, who might charge additional..

in my experience, when it comes to claiming insurance, the casa-based insurance offers the least paperwork.

and yes, puedeng tawaran ang casa insurance.. you just have to know how and who.

OK, so the way I see it merong casa-based insurance and merong Hindi. It also goes ma's mahal ang casa based. Basically ito lang naman ang gusto ko. After lapse ng warranty on June, magpapakabit ako ng mga alarm, sensor, keyless entry and other accessories for aesthetics. Ma's mura kasi pag sa labas. Now kukuha din ako ng insurance in case mabangga/nabannga ako. With AOG na rin. Pero yung day to day maintenance ang checkup including replacement or refill ng oils eh sa mekaniko ko ipapagawa. Is that OK?

nag-tiyaga ka ng tatlong taon na walang alarm at keyless, just to save 7000 bucks? i didn't last a month without these things.. nagpakabit ako agad.. sa casa.

it is ok to have ex-casa pms, but you have to know and understand what the mechanics are doing.

    Mga ka-innova owners...

What should I do kapag may squealing noise kapag light pedal pressure lang ang pagtapak sa brakes? Kahit matagal na nabiyahe, may squeal parin kapag light ang apak sa preno.

I already had the brake pads and rotors cleaned twice in 8 months, and yun pads is OEM Toyota, makapal pa siya wala pa sa kalahati as compared to a new one.

Hindi naman warped yun rotors at wala rin grooves, smooth surface naman.

    TIA.

Buy anti squeele copper grease, ilagay mo between the thin metal plate and brake pads NOT between brake pads and rotor
