Im planning to purchase an innova but looking at the thread, i see innova has more problems encountered by the buyers...even brand new ones, 1 year old units ay may mga problema agad. d4d engines medyo alanganin pa sa history etc...etc... fc majority 7-8km/liter (medyo may kasibaan ito). head room mababa lalo sa likod, space masikip daw, etc...etc..

The only advantage i see is the speed and power compared sa other AUVs or SUVs. My aunt owns an new innova before but they sold it and replaced it with adventure, masiba daw kasi lalo sa city driving.

Can somebody help me decide on this one? I hope you can posts some key advantages where it can help me decide to go for this car.

There is a shop that does this. I saw it back in 2006 with an Innova G. They also do this for the Grandia (back then Super Grandia was yet to be introduced in 2008).

No trade-ins or exchange involved since the shop will simply convert the existing bench chairs. They do this by stripping the entire thing, chopping off the metal frame, and reupholster using the same materials.

Its unlike in the V variant which is really designed as an individual seat just like the driver and passenger seats in front.

Even our old liteace before has disposable tensioner pulley.

Seatmate can convert bench seats to captain seats... the owner, Rommel San Pedro is a family friend... he owns a 2005 Innova G but had it converted to captain seats.

If I'm not mistaken, seatmate nauna mag convert ng captain seats, then doon na lumabas yung V model.

The idea for the captain chairs in the V did not come from seatmate. Toyota Thailand had a V variant back in 2005-06 before slowly introducing it here early Jan 2007 or very late 2006. Other Asian countries have better options like the captain chairs option can be had without the leather upholstery.

Any conversion (in the shops) is inferior (in terms of appearance and function) to the captains found on the V variant unless the conversion is based on seats like the ones used by the driver and passenger seats in front.

As for the conversion in the shops, since the bench is 60/40 split, they only need to heavily modify (cut up) the right side chair (60). They will just add an adjustable armrest for the left side chair (40).

    Hey guys, I'm new here.

I just wanted to ask the knowledgeable people here about a problem I've been having lately.

I have a 2006 Innova Diesel M/T and a few weeks ago, I observed that the car loses power randomly. I've observed this most frequently when I am decelerating on a 90 degree turn or when I'm stuck in traffic and there is a lot of stop and go. Bigla nalang nawawalan ng hatak ung makina and the only way I can keep the engine going is to push hard on the gas pedal. If I don't, the engine dies and I have to restart it. This is kinda scary to be doing in the middle of traffic.

I can mostly prevent this by going really slow on turns and keeping my foot on the pedal most of the time, but this is obviously not optimal. I took it to Toyota for checkup but they told me that they couldn't find the problem. They did tell me about a problem with Innovas with the gas supply or something and I was wondering if that could solve my problem. It costs 10k+ though so I'd rather not do it if it won't fix my problem.

    Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem a few years back. The problem was traced to the defective design of the suction control valve of the Innova and Fortuner D4D models 2007 and older.

Toyota replaced it with the newer design which was longer, and this solved the problem. It costs around 4k, but mine was changed for free as my Innova was under warranty then.

Check out this Fortuner thread below for more info on the suction control valve:

I've driven My friend's advie and another friend's innova, both in manual tranny. here's my observation:

Innova G D4D: Mas mabilis mag accelerate and mas matipid. average FC is 11km/liter
Adventure GLS sport: Even if you rev it hard, hindi ganun ka bilis mag accerate and it consumes an average of 8km/liter

    Hi!

Is this is a different issue from the one with the injectors? Sorry, I'm not very familiar with the inner workings of cars.

Based on reading some threads here, there are a lot of people who talk about the injectors. This issue is about the fuel not getting distributed properly?
