November 29th, 2012 12:40 PM #4811another way of securing your spare tire is getting a plastic spare tire cover like that seen in the monterosport. looks very clean and neat and also takes care of the unsightly dangling chain. available in some dealerships but a little expensive, costs 4375 toyota north edsa. the cover prevents access to the spare tire so the thief won't be able to deflate it. had problems with locks as they get stuck with dirt and would be very hard to unlock (especially after a flat tire in the middle of edsa in midday heat with your office clothes on).

November 29th, 2012 11:00 PM #4812unahan mo sila by taking them out yourself, and put them back when you drive off.. ?
or put them in a metal cage..? very unsightly..
etch them? why, so the thief knows from whom they are stealing?
heh heh..
my recommendation is to make them ugly, by squirting hot glue gun on them to make it appear they're cracked...

never tried spare tire lock and side mirror protector or yung naka etched yung plate number sa side mirror on our cars, why? gastos lang kase for me. kahit me ganun pa, alam pa din ng magnanakaw tangallin yung mga yun for them to steal the item. kung mananakaw, mananakaw pa din talaga although never pa kame nanakawan ng spare tire at side mirror for the past 13 years na may sasakyan kame, (wag sana manakawan). i have a friend who owns a mazda 3 which has side mirror protectors to avoid theft, pero nanakawan pa din ng side mirror.
in my opinion, the best way to protect your car's spare tire and side mirror, as well as the whole car is not to park on the areas which you think is not good. well, this is based on your assessment in the place now car owner. well, sabagay kahit ganu ka secure pa yung place me nananakaw pa din, meron ngang kasabihan na pag mamalasin nga naman.
this is just my opinion though. :D

November 30th, 2012 02:31 PM #4818One question sir. By the way we're using 2010 innova G d-4d A/T 46km na ang natakbo
