We bought a new 2008 INNOVA G MT/2.5 D4D last week from Toyota. Since last na raw siya sa planta, we got 80k discount. Aside from that we got a lower interest rate from TFS (although it could have been lower kung through bank).

Question ko lang, should I expect the same diesel problems with my innova? I'm also new to owning a car, anong magandang maintenance routine para mamaintain ko siya? Lastly, if I add a spoiler with LED lights, would it void my electrical warranty?

wala pa naman yatang problema na lumabas sa 2008 model.
just read your owner's manual and follow your pms regularly for peace of mind.
kumuha ka na lang sa casa tapos sila na rin ang mag install.

-cheap alarm, as ing mukang mumurahin hehe
-shark step board
-tawain made sun visor, medyo si sakto..hayz
-front visor, yung nilalagay sa dulo ng hood
-yung bilog sa manibela para madali mag ikot ng steering wheel
-heavy duty plastic mat sa likod, para pag nagdala ng mga medyo basang bagay ok lang
-metal plates para sa mga door handles
-full chromed mufler extension, yung malaki kinha namin
-sticker ng diesel
-brackets para sa mga headlight at tail light


20k flat ang nagastos..feeling ko medyo fair yung cost ng upgrades namin..kinompyut namin sa CASA pricing 65+k ang magagastos

Kasama yan sa warranty up to 3 years, di naman consumables ang dashboard at wala naman ginagalaw dyan ang owner to void its warranty.

tanong lang. is your innova gas variant or diesel sya. if diesel sya then, medyo maingay yan. pero kung gas, then there must be something wrong. apparently, part sa warranty yan. I do believe you could consider mentioning your concern during your next pms.

Hi guys! Kaka-underwash lang nung VVTi namin...ayos naman ang linis. Nung naka-lift, may nakita akong manipis na layer ng kalawang sa muffler. Balak ni erpat papinturahan...meron na bang nakagawa dito ng ganon???

Anong klase ng ingay at san banda?? Plastic Rattle or you can hear something moving inside the dashboard?? like rolling etc.
Because I had the same problem before baka pareho tayo ng na experience.

Muffler or pipe? kung pipe normal lang na magkaroon ng kalawang, kahit yung catalytic converter nagkukulay kalawang yun. Catalytic conventer are disposable anyway so why bother painting it, even the pipes are replaceable din.

Pero kung gusto mong pinturahan, gumamit ka ng VHT paint, maraming aerosol na mabibili sa mga DIY shops.

I got this feeling Toyota used substandard materials for the pipe. Mine is also a VVT-i so no diesel sludge or soot to help guard against rusting. It is very difficult but I tried to apply a layer of waterproof marine oil from the exhaust tip until the bend inside. Since there is moisture build up during the start up in the morning, it is always moist inside. Right now, there is surface rust inside (which is hard to reach, let alone the opportunity to sand it out). I have decided to leave it alone. It will take a few more years to eat through that pipe.

You can aerosol paint the inner pipe end just like I did. Normally, in the morning water vapor comes out of the pipe end so there's the tendency of rust forming.

You can do sandpaper or easier if you can wipe it with swab soak in rust converter (Turco) then aerosol paint it with VHT paint (Very High Temperature).

Just be careful over spraying parts of your rear bumber better to cover nearby area with newspaper and tape.

I use this to get rid of the rust on my tail pipe



And for hard to reach areas, I sneak in under and use these soft wire brushes
