Had the same problem before, irritating plastic rattle, but in my case the sound was coming from, the right side of the dashboard underneath the air bag area.

THE REASON: there were loose wires hitting the aircon air duct when the car starts vibrating especially when you shift to low gear.

REMEDY: Secured the loose wirings with cable bands and result, wala nang ingay tahimik na yung Innova ko!!

If you have garage, you can let open the windows even once a week to dry off any accumulated mist inside the cabin. It also helps reduced foul smelling of your seats.

Weird, but most probably one of your window glass was not fully closed.

If you have roof rail or rear spoiler done with holes, then probably you need to re-check.

Innova's weather strips and rubbers are very good and would be impossible for water to drip inside the cabin, unless you did some modifications that compromise its effectiveness.

Same problem in my 4 mos old innova, seldom used, (1400 km odo). I think this problem first occured in his 3rd month. Since every weekend ko lang sya talaga nagagamit, its always my practice to put it on fan mode until it reaches the normal running temp. Dun ko naaamoy ung parang mapanghi na may pagka maasim, during the fan mode.

Btw, i haven't checked the a/c filter in the compartment area kasi kaka review ko pa lang ng manual nya.

High maintenance??? never had problem with mine 2 and 1/2 years. Ever cool pa rin even on sunny days, usually my thermostat and fan are set at the lowest.

Wala yan sir sa cabin filter dahil hindi naman yon nababasa pero it is good that you inspect it regularly.

Ayoko pa kasing magresort sana sa aircon cleaning at dalawang taon pa lang yung kotse (three days daw na matetengga sa casa - the same for both vios and innova), malamig pa naman ang aircon.

use charcoal. it effectively eliminates bad odor inside the car. for 6 years i've been using this on my revo and innova. no need far car air freshener.

Why fix when it is not broken, besides there's a high possibility that they can break most of your plastic clips on the dashboard and sidings.

Open your rear aircon even if you don't have passengers sitting there, just set it to low cool.

Signs that your aircon system is good in condensing water out of the system was that when you park you will see droplets of water on the pavement, one on the front passenger side and one on the 3rd row passenger side also.

    Guys,

Im a newbie here & I am an owner of an Innova Silver Diesel E Automatic . I observed that the color of the front & back bumpers is different from the color of the body. Do you have the same observations especially to those owners of a silver Innova?

    Thanks in Advance,

    Silver 2008

You observed well . The same with the mint green variant. I would guess it's a special blend. I wonder they didn't do it with other colors

    It's normal

It would be the same for all color variants except of course on Black Mettalic, bumpers are originally black in texture and there's no matching primer underneath the body colored bumpers. When you accidentally scratch your bumper, you will see black instantly as the body colored bumpers are painted very thinly.

Even on Dark Grey Metalic A.K.A. Night Mist, you will notice a different shade specially on sunny day or daylight bulbs.

*Mile2, bro, I don't think it is on my blaze. I mean, the shade of the bumper and the body appear the same. Who cares anyway, Our Innova is up and running and that's what matters.

There is no other way but to have it cleaned if you can't stand the foul odour. As the saying goes, fix the cause, not cure it. I think some unwanted foreign materials (soot, dust, insects, etc.) have invaded inside the ac housing causing the foul odor. After cleaning, use TW odor-x and hang two net pouches containing charcoal, one each on the driver and the passenger side underneath the dash similar to what I did
    Hope this helps.
