    1. Mileage as per forum reply is 13Km/ltr (diesel), para yatang magastos compared to my VIOS which is 20Km/ltr (gas). Is 13Km/ltr applied to Innova diesel or gas?

As per forum view, mahina daw sa braking if you're running beyond 90Km/hr.

Hope you could answer these queries para at least ready na ako for my new driving style. Thank you po.
Definitely malaki ang difference ng fuel consumption between a Vios 1.3 and an Innova 2.5D. Mine is an Innova J 2.0Gas. But I can compare this with a Vios 1.3E because my brother leaves it to me when he goes abroad for a few months. Kaya halinhinan ang paggamit ko ng car.

No question, Vios is an economical car. But with the Innova, at first you will experience bigger fuel consumption coz you are still within the break-in period (1,000 to 5,000 kms). In my experience, even after the firsth 1k PMS, slight pa lang yung improvement ng FC ko. I think maybe because hilaw pa rin yung break-in ko. I notice the improvement of my FC when I reached the 3k range in my ODO. I can't give the exact numbers but I'm basing my estimates while using the Vios and Innova for a week each. I work at home so puwede akong maghatid sundo mga mga bata sa school. I have 2 kids and they have different schedules kaya 4 times akong napunta sa school. The 600 pesos of gasoline for the Vios seems to last for 7 days, while for the Innova it will last for 5 days. Mas lalong nag improve yung FC ko dahil sa change of driving style. Mabigat dati ang paa ko sa accelarator. But when I started to use the Innova, ginaangan ko, kasi sa lakas ng engine, you can maintain the speed with short pressing of the pedal.

Thanks Hahnvin/Mile2 for the useful comments.

From what I've noticed, parang walang masyadong reklamo sa Innova. Definitely I'm going to watch my diesel consumption though kasi medyo sanay ako sa gas expenses ko sa VIOS 1.3E manual.

Concerning the "braking", nakita ko kasi sa forum din eh na medyo daw delikado sa high speed... but as you've said it is not. I read this from www.mouthshut.com/review concerning Toyota Innova. It was probably because the new models of Innova now is more rigid (at mas mahusay) than the old.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks aris72ph.

But concerning "brake-in", kailangan pa ba ng brake-in period?? Sabi kasi sa casa (Toyota Dagupan) with regards to my VIOS 1.3E before... there is no such thing as brake-in sa VIOS. Dahil siguro sa gas siya, anyway casa technician does not rely on VIOS brake-ins. So parang wala lang when I drive my VIOS, it is just like an ordinary used car when I drove it.

Sa Innova naman, kung may brake-in nga... like in motorcycles, mga anong range naman dapat ang speed? Definitely hindi dapat hataw kaagad. Any comments on this?

During the first 1000 kms, do not go over 80 kph, yan ung nasa manual, Pero ang ginawa ko steady sa 80 kph then paabitin ko ng 100kph pero d babad, balik lang uli sa 80. After my 1k change oil, hinataw ko na.

Rasurop, you can opt for a more conservative approach.
I usually follow this max speed range during "break-in" period.

    0-1000 KMs: 60 - 80 Kph
    1001-5000 KMs: 80 - 100 Kph
5001 KMs up: I go over 100 Kph

As of this time at 6 KMs in my ODO, I only reached 110 Kph.

You should still check your RPM. I don't recommend pushing your RPM at low speed.

    I hope this helps

Test drove a relative's diesel Innova G variant recently...

I noticed that power steering was very stiff compared to my other cars. Could there be something wrong in that car? Btw, I notice he changed to 17" rims and wider tires which might be the cause but I'm unsure. Would you say that the Innova power steering is stiffer compared to other cars? This is my biggest complaint on the Innova so far as I'm considering getting one later this year.

Also, I noticed that his tail door wasn't going all the way up without me pushing it. Turns out that the hydraulic door shocks were kinda rusty causing the stuck up. Is this normal sa Innova?

Worse is that his car has ran for only 8000+ kms. 1 year palang daw ginagamit and may driver pa sya to "maintain". Sayang especially ginastusan pa nya like the 17" mags, chrome everywhere, DVD system, etc.

Power steering for Innova is just okay with me, with the original tires you can use single hand to steer, comparing to sedan it is a bit stiff because of the body weight and the engine weight. With bigger and wider tires you will surely feel a tad stiffer steering wheels even with sedans.

The hydraulic lift of the rear door is okay also for me, with proper maintenace it will last. I have now a 10 months old Innova with 20K on ODO, and so far I have no problems. BTW I have a gas version and I'm happy even with its FC of 10-11Km/li. My interior was still good as new with proper maintenance I achieved it even with my beige seats, ceiling, and sidings, My exterior paint was also mirror like with only some minor swirls but hardly noticeable when sealant wax was applied. Even my engine bay was clean as the one in showroom

I see! Thanks sa comments. Siguro best is mag test drive ako ng brand new unit from Toyota one of these days.

Baka isolated case yung na try ko. Gulat lang ako sobra when I found out 8000+ lang pala tinakbo and laspag na sobra yung car.

one probable reason yong wheel alignment baka meron kabig kaya stiff mine also changed mags and tires to 18/50/235 steering handling change a bit but its just fine even for lady driver...

ryan, I'm using 17" mags. May slight difference sa steering because mas wider yung tires ko. Ok naman ang handling.

Hindi kaya ibang gamit ang ginawa ng driver nya? Iba pa rin kasi pag owner mismo ang gumagamit.

hahnvin, alam mo naman, investment din namin ni misis kaya conservative driving lang. Actually, sa car production hinahataw na nila. Nakita ko ito sa Toyota Japan assembly plant. After mabuo yung unit, hataw nila ito for testing. Nakapatong yung four tires sa roller. Minsan talagang more than 100Kph nila patakbuhin. Kakatuwa panoorin mabuo yung sasakyan from scratch
