That's an interesting point when you say the main factor to influence the decision whether to go D4D or VVTi would not be the fuel consumption but rather the projected usage of the MPV over time.
But then, it all boils down again on the question of what immediate benefit will accrue to me when i shell out a P50K premium for the D4D. If I do frequent expressway runs and out-of-town sorties, am I better off with a D4D? For what specific reasons? Conversely, if I just spend most of my days driving (and idling) around the metro, would I be better off economically with a VVTi?
In the medium term as biofuel blends are mandated for use, will f.c. for the D4D radically improve and shorten our computed average payback time of 3 years?
if the fuel consumption dont bother you i suggest chose the vvti engine innova...quiter engine, lesser vibration makes it more comfortable to drive, faster in straight line acceleration(0-100 km/h 12+ secs;d4d 14+ secs),etc...maintenance cost? most of the car experts say they are the same...
my reason why i chose d4d engine
1-better fuel economy
2-flood proof
3-torquey (more pulling power, mas malakas sa akyatan)
4-crdi

guys i'm really learning alot from this forum.. my dad has innova pano ko macocompute ung fuel consumption nun? sorry for the noob question.. hehe la kc me tlaga alam sa mga sasakyan and now trying to learn thru this forum..
Here's a basic method:
1) Have a piece of paper, pen, and a calculator on hand.
2) Record the odo reading on your 1st Full Tank fill to the rim
3) Get on the road and roll off.
4) After several miles on the road, pull over to a gas station and refill a 2nd full tank to the rim. This time record the odo and the quantity of fuel filled in liters.
5) Now you have all the necessary datas. Subtract 2nd odo reading from 1st odo reading. The difference of both readings divide it to the the quantity filled during your 2nd full tank.
6) The quotient is your fuel consumption in kilometer per liter or simply known as kpl.
Here's a simple table to monitor your FC

yung performance and Fuel Consumption.
salamat in advance
There's no difference between this one and the 2001-2006 models.
In other words, fuel economy is very good for a 1.6, and acceleration is quite brisk... actually, surprisingly so for a 1.6 "compact" car. Yung kulang nalang niya handling, as the tires are quite slippery and the chassis is prone to understeering.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
We have a 2002 Revo VX200 (2.0 gas) and we're just getting 4 kilometers per liter (pure city driving). does anyone own a revo? whats your gas consumption?
I drove the ALTIS 1.6 J last 2005 my driving lesson in A1. Well Altis is best on its performance and good fuel consumptions. Maganda talaga ang Altis J for you. Ito nga ang pinili kong car eh binigay sa akin eh CRV 2.0L. I'm just 20 years old. so younger pa nu for CRV 2.0 user.
ALTIS is comfortable driving around the city and province.
Have a cousin with the VX200... think it's similar, between 4.5 - 6.
Ganyan talaga... big vehicle, automatic, underpowered engine.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
*ace...tnx..
anong average fuel consumption mo ngayon and nung bago pa altis mo?
more info pls..
ung 2002 1.8 manual ko po 5.3km/l lang. d pa po naka aircon sa gbi. pure city. kpag pure hiway po 8.5km/l. d ko pinapaabot ng 100kph. normal lang yan bro
I have a VX200 burgundy red, the very 1st batch.by far i'm getting 6.7- 6.9kms/L. My suggestion for you is to install a cold air intake (filter) in a customized chrome pipe, get a better sparkplugs like Splitfire, customize your exhaust pipes w/ a bigger diameter & transform it into a dual exhaust (in chrome tips), using gas additives like STP or by petron will be great too(though im still on research about the long-term effect)....then you rev it from zero to redline once the light is green.you'll love to hear the growl of your engine. and last but not the least install a turbonator. you can purchase it online. I hope i've helped you in many ways.
try doing what rufboxster is recommending - (aside from using engine oil additives and the turbonator)... You'd probably get good results...![]()
Ouch. An Impreza, Fozzie, or Outie can do way better than those. Para kang naka-exped ha!
