Can't wait to have my cowl problem fixed.
Tuwing Sunday kasi paligo ng ride namin (9am-11:30 washing and interior detailing, then lunch break at CSI marathon 12-3pmadik e hehe , 3pm-4pm final detailing) at nakaka-asiwa talaga tuwing dun banda sa windshield ako naglilinis, nakikita ko na nakaangat yung mga dulo ng cowl (yun pala tawag dun mga peeps, hehe).
Reverse gear problems? Hmmmm.
Another thing I noticed. Everytime one of us posts a negative comment about our rides as a form of heads up to other co-owners, (be it minor problems and or defects) which other owners would eventually agree that they also have the same problems, somebody would pop out and post "comments" to discourage other would-be buyers not to buy an Avanza. And they base their opinions on our posts regarding trivial problems as cowl end locking defects and subjective difficulty in the reverse gears and what not.
I mean, come on. BE reasonable guys. Before you post your negative comments here on our thread and try to convince others that buying an Avanza is the WORST decision you will make, please be considerate and bear in mind that this thread was initially meant to contain info regarding the Avanza. And then when a lot of us did buy our units, it became a thread meant to help owners discuss matters regarding our units and how to overcome problems, from dealing with SAs and banks to pimping our rides and yes, in dealing with the noted "defects" in a newly bought and not second-hand ride.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I know. However, if I may make another request, please state that you are making your own opinion if it is obvious that you are going against the general flow of opinions in the thread you are posting in. Don't be somebody stirring the hornets nest.
Readers of this thread might be reading it as basis for their decision to buy an Avanza or not (like I did) and it cannot be said that all are discerning readers and they might take your post as a fact and not an opinion.
TQA will also charge you an arm and a leg for tint and accessories. Got my unit from them. Decided just to get standard freebies as full tint was to expensive. Cant recall how much exactly.
Had my 1000 km check up done by them. They flushed the oil and put in fuel sysytem cleaner or something like it without informing me. Gave them sh*t for it. If you will have your car serviced there, tell them you don't want them to do those things. Its not required but a good way for them to make money.
I am sorry to hear about your experience with Toyota Manila Bay. I agree that you should put your complaint in paper so they management can address this accordingly. I suggest next time before you have your vehicle serviced, be firm and insist on what parts or procedure should be done to your vehicle.
I remember the service advisor recommended i use fully synthetic. I said I am fine with regular mineral oil because I eventually want the vehicle be serviced at 5,000kms. If I use fully synthetic, the next time the vehicle will be serviced is at 10,000kms. My point is I want my vehicle to be checked on a regular basis.
I also insisted not to use flushing chemicals and fuel injector cleaner. So yun I spent less than P1k for the 1st 1,000kms checkup.
Does any share the same experience? ...especially on the brake issue below...
1.5G A/T bought Feb. 26
Report:
1) My first FC computation - 10.153km/L
I do feel na mas maganda yung takbo ng synthetic.
In my own opinion, this thread is intended for avanza owners as well as avanza enthusiast (owner or soon to be an owner)
kung ilalagay natin dito sa thread are all sweet things, eh para napakaganda ng sasakyan at walang ka defect defect... it would be better to see the both sides then depende na sa reader if he/she still want to buy an avanza, hindi naman natin hawak ang decision ng mga buyer, malay natin na pwede acceptable sa iba pwede ring hindi.
like me sabi nila matagtag daw ang avanza but still i pursue to buy it... kasi acceptable naman sa akin yun.
Tried it once nayanig bungo ko biglang tigil yung car. For the Avanza, the breaking power is there when you need it you just have to step harder. BTW, toyota won't start looking at your break system as part of your regular maintenance till the 10K mark according to my SA.
Dun sa kenwood stereo, I think may audio-in siya sa likod so you can have your tv's audio out routed there for amplification to your speakers.
About the reverse gear, the Avanza, being a entry level car, probably doesn't have syncronized reverse gears. Try shifting to 1st or 2nd before engaging reverse.
regarding the flying hood guard incident of judell...I talked to Cris kanina. To explain yung side ng spacetech. They felt bad that you did not mention sa forum na ikaw lang ang nagkabit ng hood guard mo sa Avanza. I am not saying may mali sa ginawa pag install pero you should have informed our fellow forumers na ikaw ang naginstall. We had the impression kasi na Spacetech ang nagkabit.
Anyway if this incident occured na sila nag install, me chance daw na palitan nila. Bawas sa sweldo ni Cris hehe. joke![]()
hello ulit![]()
pwede pong pako post d2 address at contact number ng spacetech? thanks.
So you mean to say kung sila ang magkakabit, di na lilipad yung hoodguard?
Di naman kailangan ng expert to do it.
and I never called chris about this coz I know its my fault.
well it doesn't really guarantee na fool proof yung installation sa spacetech. However if worst comes to worst, you can always put the blame on the installer and ask for a replacement. There were two forumers or lurkers who told spacetech about the incident. Boss Aldrich and Cris are now figuring out how to further secure the hood guard to avoid yung accidents like this especially when running on high speed.
