Does it come with an alarm or is this purely a keyless entry system?

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
Its an alarm. No siren just the horn. Wonder if I can install an aftermarket immobilzer? Or maybe it already has one but its not activated? Time to read the manual.
congrats userfriendly on your new avanza. Aside from the 3M Tint, Matting, & seatcover, ano pa freebies binigay ng SA mo sa Toyota QA?
First off, CONGRATULATIONS!
About the 1 set keyless entry/remote, I am also used to having a pair of remote for keyless entry but got only 1 set when I bought my APV. Baka dahil na rin sa price kaya medyo tinipid although the APV comes with an immobilizer. We ended up getting a car alarm (Code Alarm) para dalawa ang remote since the wife and I both have our own set of keys.
Musta mileage? I'm guessing that since the Avanza is utilizing Toyota's vvt-i engine technology that it will be a lot better than what I'm getting now with my APV. We postponed our plans of getting a 2nd car last year pero talagang nahihirapan na kami with only our APV at hand. The wife works sa Malate while I work in Paranaque (full time consultant) and Makati (full time regular employee). We were planning on getting the Swift as we were both swept away by the APV but since we have 3 kids we are now contemplating on getting the Avanza instead. Our main gripe sa APV is its mileage. We're only getting 7 kms/l on city and 8 kms/l on hiway driving even with the wife's turtle-like and safety-first driving style.
Thanks.
rust proofing and 10 liters of shell unleaded.
Macky,
I did not know that APV only comes with one remote. Even the sales agent and customer relations manager sa TQA were suprised that it only comes with one remote.
As for FC still too early to tell. I'll update after using it for sometime. I'll try to post FC during 1st 1000kms and after the break in period.
userfriendly,
Actually, embedded na yung remote sa key so one-piece na lang yung key at remote pero isang key lang yung may embedded remote, yung isa ordinary key lang.
Mileage nung APV ko during the first 5K kms was dismal..... about 6.2 kms/l to 7 kms/l. Nag-improve pa yung mileage na sinabi ko from my previous post![]()
I find it equally surprising that they (dealership personnel) dont even know or are not fully aware of the entire contents/package that comes with a typical Avanza. They are selling something they are not familiar with..tsk...tsk..tsk... I hope they are not playing dumb and doing some stalling techniques.
By experience, the customer relations personnel(s) in a dealer are close to useless bec. they neither have the sweeping power/authority nor the independece to address a customer's complaints. They are just full of reports here and there.
Ps: Congratulations on your new Avanza! What color did you get?
Champagne yung color.
 My avanza got its 1st hit today! Driver picking up kids and another car backed into him. About 8 one inch wide scratches! :arghhh:
Oh well :****:
Owner of other car promised to call me by tom. Hopefully will turn out well so no need to post sa goon squad.
Sorry if :offtopic:

sir, ano po suspension ng avanza sa likod? leaf or coil?
maganda yung avanza ah.. anyone with an idea of how much FC this avanza consumes?
I have seen both 1.3J and 1.5 G models at Toyota Marikina. With the price difference of > P150K, the inside of 1.3J is acceptable enough for me.![]()
^^ditto.
i just got to see the avanza J interior at SM Megamall. it's not too shabby. early-mid '90s look, maybe. but then i drive an early-'90s car.
there are some shockers. like, the complete lack of sound insulation under the "furry black plastic" covering the sides of the interior (not the vinyl on the doors.. it wasn't wrinkled on the unit i saw). and the bare metal C-pillars (horror of horrors!) and the latch mechanism and child lock are plastic!
but it seems like a good buy. i'd buy a J-spec if i had a family to haul. makes a nice utility vehicle.
the G-model is too expensive for my tastes. that's Mazda3 hatch territory. or Ford Focus 1.6 territory. of course they're not comparable (directly).
Bwahaha... like OTEP said, you don't need full power in traffic, or climbing mountains. Heck, we drive L300s through the mountains at 2000 rpm, where they're producing, what? 30 hp? It's all patience with modern low horsepower cars. Unlike old carburated plants, that would actually have trouble climbing hills (my Vanette, for example, couldn't climb steep grades with a full load), modern EFI engines don't suffer from being "too underpowered" to climb.
Plus the Avanza's gearing is supposedly very very short.
Sayang nga yun... heck, if they sell you the other remote, it might cost half as much as an aftermarket alarm system.
As for tint bubbles, I've learned my lesson... don't get tint from the dealerships... go to a good outside shop for this, as dealerships often don't do a very good job.
Again: Punta ka na sa EB!!! Test-drive na yan!!! Libreng coffee sa iyo!!!![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Dear userfriendly,
Kindly comment on your Avanza ride regarding this post I got from another site. Thanks!
"Although Avanza uses rear coil spring, the ride is worst.
Avanza's rear spring is too darn hard - and the shock can't afford to reduce the motion. At least that's what happened in Indonesia, not yet check in Philippines.
If you want to check out, look at someone's Avanza from the back when driving in a bit bumpy road. Compare the motion with other cars. If the avanza experienced more up-down motion then it is using hard coil spring. This is especially when the Avanza carry less than 4 person."
The ride is not bad. Its actually pretty decent. No complaints from my wife and kids. We've only driven approx 140kms since we got it. All of it city driving.
The ride is obviously not as good as a sedan but its not as bad as other AUV's I've riden eg Crosswind and some SUV's like the Terrano. For me the Crsswind is like getting a free massage and my brothers Terrano would just beat you up. I have test driven an APV and would say that the Avanza's ride is better. If you will be coming from a luxury car then you might find it hard and bouncy. I find it a little bouncy but nothing to complain about. I used to drive a Cefiro and am still driving a Venture. I'm used to soft rides and its perfectly fine for me.
When I said its a little bouncy, its only when you hit pot holes and humps at speed. The rear end has a tendency to bounce a little.
