October 5th, 2006 11:38 PM #121sabi ng sales rep sa Toyota Motorshow last week, yung lowest variant 1300 cc daw ng avanza for taxis will be around 580 to 600K, yung high end variant with third row seats at auto tranny at 1500 cc ay 650 to 800K. Di kaya medyo mahal ang pricing. kasi malapit na sa na innova J ? Considering na halos vios engine lang avanza at vios platform. Palagay ko mas good buy yung innova at least crdi diesel engine, plus hi-lux platform at pang heavy duty pa!
malamang mga taxi operators lang bibili nito pero yung mga informed car buyers would opt for an innova instead of the avanza 1500cc vvti.

October 6th, 2006 11:32 AM #123Yes the Avanza is a bit pricey specially the 1.5 AT. But, remember that the gas version of the Innova will use more fuel. For the D4D, it might be a good buy at 813,000 for the J model but the D4D has a pretty spoty reputation. If the D4D problems have been fixed, then it is a good buy. But until then, I would rather go for the Avanza.

October 7th, 2006 09:43 AM #126Per Avanza brochure, 3 variants lang ang available. 1.3MT, 1.5MT at 1.5AT.
1.3 manual only and power steering only. No power window, lock and mirrors. Steel rims only with 14 inch tire.
1.5 available in manual and AT. All power, 15 inch mags and tire.
As far as I know all prices are not yet final. Speculation pa lang.

I saw 4 truckloads (about 24 units) of left-hand drive Toyota Avanzas being hauled from Batangas Pier this morning. They were all white, basic (with hubcaps only). Looks like a cab company made an order already.
From the side, they look like shrunken Innovas but from the rear, it's a cross between a Suzuki IPV and an Innova. The size is a class on its own. Quite small for an AUV.
