Mga avanza owners, wala pa ba kayong napansin problema sa rides nyo?

Ako sa 1.3 model ko wala naman so far. (dapat lang! hehe) Other than the added motion I feel when I rest my head on the seat headrest as compared to my old sedan, wala naman ibang problema.
Have read about abnormal engine noise in the Malaysia Avanza forum for the 1.3 model, but I do not notice such in mine.

Was disappointed to compute latest FC of my 1.3 model with slow town driving and lots of aircon use (di pwedeng maiwan sa loob mga bata ng walang AC kasi) at 7km/Li at half tank!! Wa! ang baba! Any other 1.3 owner here can confirm their FC? Will repost once consumed fuel up to lowest possible level...

Manual or Automatic?

Low speed driving, lots of traffic, and idling with the aircon on really eat up gas on small engines... especially the AC thing. I've noticed that the AC eats less gas at idling on my 2.0 than it did on my 1.3 or 1.6... well, relatively... mas matakaw pa rin sa gas ang 2.0.

The 1.3 is manual, hope the FC still improves. Will soon find out when I consume the other half of my fuel.

My FC for my 1.3 Avanza is 8-9 km/L at full tank. City driving from Marikina to San Juan and back. I have a 2 year old son but I put off the aircon when parked. Bumababa na lang kami, just for the time period that I'm computing for my FC. I'll compute again till my next gas up.

Hmmm. Kinda wierd ano? Pero I read sa Malaysia Avanza Club na recent lang sila nagkaroon ng 1.5, parang expected nga nila na mas maganda FC ng 1.5? Bat kaya ganun?

Finally, nakuha na rin yung pinakahihintay namin Avanza 1.5G M/T(Champagne) . Nag-antay daw ng 4 hours (Toyota Shaw) yung wife ko bago nakuha. We added 3.5k for the 3M tint at buong windshield daw ang nilagyan. Di pa nya nakuha yung seat cover dahil gray lang yung available. Naubusan daw ng biege. Di raw bagay. Anyway, wait na lang pag dumating ng stock. Wala pa din available na car cover sa casa. Saan kaya meron? Maraming delivery receipts na binigay dahil next year ko pa kasi ipa-register. Tanong ko lang, photocopy lang kasi ang binigay na mga D.R. , acceptable ba 'to pag nasita sa mga pulis? Next week ko pa 'to ma-drive pagdating ko..I'm really excited. Mantakin nyo bumili ako ng sasakyan na hindi ko man lang pa nakita. Puro pictures at reviews lang basehan ko .

Regarding the tint, I just added P1800 at Ortigas for the full windshield. 3M din and magic tint which is more expensive.

Let's wait for other 1.3 owners for their FC. Baka naman mali lang ang driving technique ko. But this can be right because the weight are almost the same but one engine is more powerful. I've heard similar stories before between Lancer Boxtype SL (1.3) and GSR (1.6). SL uses more gas.

Pero with 8-9 km/L, masaya na ko compared with APV's 6-7 km/L. Before my full tank will last for 6 days, now it lasted 8 days.

Congrats on your new ride!! I can imagine your excitement in riding your new Avanza.
Ako din bumili ng unit ko na hindi man lang nakakakita pa ng actual na Avanza. Wala kasing display dito sa aming pobreng probinsya hehe.
Maling-mali daw sabi ng utol ko na nasa States. Dapat daw me test drive pa ako na gawin para malaman ko kung babagay sa akin yung sasakyan.
Well, despite the lack of first hand actual review, so far I do not regret buying my Avanza...It's all good!!!

Hmmm. Ako din e. With manual transmission I don't think there's a learning curve in the driving technique like there is for first time automatic transmission drivers - a.k.a. RFI learning curve, hehe. RFI = Right foot intelligence, for the automatic cars. Not unless you really like to race your engine and drive ala Schumi, you can't have a wrong technique with the manual IMHO.

So, I highly agree that it must be the small 1.3 engine in our rides, pulling almost the same body weight (1585kg for our 1.3, 1625kg for the 1.5 according to the Toyota specs) as that of the 1.5 version, also with the same aircon unit the smaller engine must consume more fuel.

But having accepted those facts, I can still have a smile on my face, knowing that the APV owner on the other lane who is smugly looking at my ride is spending more for gas than I am!

Sorry, forgot to comment on the delivery receipt. Mine are also xerox copies but the SA has placed "certified true copy" stamps on each copy and was duly signed by the Sales Manager. Kung ganun din sayo, malamang OK na yan.

*dfcsantos, sir saan ka nakakuha ng avanza 1.3 mo? sabi kasi ng purchasing namin dito sa kumpanya namin wala pa daw available na unit. marami daw kasi ang umorder ng avanza kaya naubos. ilang dealer na nga napagtanungan ng purchasing namin like shaw, ortigas, marikina at pasong tamo wala pa din.
