Guys,

Just wanted to share and ask opinion for any of the jimny 2013 owners:
1. Hearing a metal to metal like chain vibrating sound when im around 2-3000rpm and on 2nd gear up? It feels like it is rattling somehow?
2. Humming/hissing sound on the back portion when im running around 60kph, especially after the rain shower, thinking that it is in the bottom portion of tire cover.

Please help share your experience and possible solution especially on the no 1.

1. Does the sound come from directly under the car? Could be the transfer case, if so... but if you're in 2H, it shouldn't rattle.

2. Nothing leaking back there?

1. The sound is not coming from the under of my jimny, it seems from the engine bay. The rattling sounds when im on 2wd even if i swith to 4wd and accelerating therebis that virating chain sound.

2. No leaks as far as i can see.

Guys, quick question. What fuel do you use for your Jimnys? I've been using V-Power Nitro+ Racing since I got car in December. Should I just use 95 RON? Current mileage in the city (daily route is BGC to Makati) is 7-7.5 km/l. Thanks!

im also using 95ron. mejo magulo kasi nakasulat sa manual. 91 ron nakalagay then may disclaimer din if may sticker sa gas tank door na "use unleaded fuel", use 95ron.

Lahat naman po ng fuel natin ngayon ay unleaded, even yung blaze100. Personally im using phoenix 95 octane

question po, i have an automatic jimny, i heard kasi if you put bigger tires need i-regear ang transmission? is that correct?
also, if i have 215/75r15 tires do i still need to regear it?

I used to use 91 octane, but have stopped and shifted to 95 octane.

"Tumotope" ang makina with 91, even when right after casa tune-up and change oil.

Just use 95. My rattle went away after I switched from 91 or 93.

*vegtablejoe when you say tumotope makina, what does that mean? At what speed? Despite just having a 1.3 engine, its a relatively small car. I mean, mga mirage g2, g4 1.2 lang/ celerio and wigo 1.0 lang.. Just a bit concered coz wife wants to by an A/T

if i may, "tope" is engine knock sir. all spark-ignition engines are susceptible to this and has no relation to engine size.

Thanks n_spinner06. The way vegetablejoe mentioned 'tope' kasi sounded to me like the engine was too weak or somehow couldnt carry the weight of the car

Having the jimny undergo the 75K PMS this time. Pinapa check ko na rin ung wiggle tsaka ung aircon na kulang sa lamig pag mainit sa labas. P4k estimate sa PMS pa lang.

At roughly 80hp/ton, the power to weight ratio is pretty good.☺ and it can climb 30-40degree slopes. Surely the engine is more than sufficient.☺

mine had death wobble also. had it fixed at Wheelers in Banawe. spent less than 1k for the repair. no parts replaced.
