The Best Brand of Tires

Afaik most mainstream brands already have China based manufacturing. At least for commercial tires. Even premium brands like Michelin and Pirelli have China made tires. The brands will insist that quality is the same while keeping cost down. In my experience, the good brands made in China are decent, but country of origin still correlates to quality. In buying tires I would choose brand first, then country of origin.

Try going 195/55R15.

The DRB is a pretty popular tire and it's a decent tire. My only gripe is that it's directional so you can't rotate front left to rear right and so on, unlike asymmetric tires.

Went all out with the replacement tires for my Mazda 3:



So far though, since I haven't brought the car out of town, I can hardly feel any difference between the Potenzas and the China tires that came with the car when I bought it. At the end of the day, the car's inherent handling characteristics matter more than the tires.

I also plan to compare the long-term durability of the Potenzas vs the Ecstas I have on my other car.

I dont like them 2154517 the side walls are somewhat soft. Good thing yours are xl. I think the sidewalls are abit reinforced. How wide are your rims?

Sidewall stiffness is dependent on the tire model, not the size. 215/45R17 is the most common size for 17" tires (my 10th gen Altis also uses the same tires).

My stock rims are 7 inches wide so ideal width is 205 or 215.

Depends on the car. Mine recommends 32F/30R. Most sedans fall under that range, while SUVs are around 35-38 PSI.

A difference of 1-2 PSI should not negatively impact a tire's longevity.

Google led me to bad reviews about this tire. Probably not suited for tropical climate.

How long did you use your 3.3k tire? It's normal that prices will go up after a few years

I also use GT Maxmiler and it lasted 2.5 years and run around 50k kms before i changed it with another set of the same brand and specs.

If it serves you well and you had good experience with it, doesn't make sense to look for other brand/s.

A couple of good friends of mine are tire importers bro. There will be a major price increase this year due to high raw material costs and Php USD rate. When the increase will be will depend on inventory levels of each brand. But definitely cost will be up significantly, it is only a question of when.
