No complaints about my 2.0R AT. There is one problem though. My siren for the alarm (which was an add-on for P6.5K) conked out. although this was from a third party provider (Code Alarm distributor). It's under warranty for repair only and I'm still waiting to see if there are still parts.

Everything is great. Fuel consumption isn't so great, but it's almost the same as my old car, a 1600 Lancer MX.

Just got my 2.0 MT hatch last week. Here's my 2 cents worth:

    1. Build Quality is really good. from the feel of the steering wheel to the suspension, you get the feeling of good engineering and design.

    2. No-nonsense interior. Everything is very neatly placed with very few clutter. The audio system is quite good also. i was planning on adding a Subwoofer but then when i turned the sound to the max, i felt satisfied with the stock equipment. I wish there were more compartments though.

    3. Average fuel consumption. Although i havent really done the math (full tank, travel, full tank, compute), the fuel consumption guage shows im doing 8+km / liter. though that could be inaccurate. City driving figures pala ito, not doing above 100-110, shifting at 2000-2500 rpm.

    4. Speed-wise, i don't think the Impreza will win a drag contest with a Civic, although, acceleration is really smooth. I havent really tried making hataw bec of the break-in period. Maybe after 1-2 months ill post something regarding this.

    5. In reply to the depth of the clutch, yes the clutch is deeper than normal. but sanayan lang nga. =)

    6. rear seats is cramped. but i doesnt really matter to me as i always drive alone.

    7. Front seats are freaking amazing! semi-racing seats + telescopic steering wheel + good placing of shift knob = Fatigue-less and relaxing driving experience.

Overall, a really really good car with really good looks. I cant tell you how many looks and stares i got when passing by some people. You're really getting a lot of car for the money.

For those who planning to buy a unit, there's a difference between 08 and 09 models. 09 models come with 6 airbags and different aircon dials (with edges instead of round). However, you lose the power folding side mirrors. Kinuha ko yung 08 model kasi mas malaki discount. =)

    Cheers!

Yun ang reason why wala masyado nagpo post ... wala masyado complaint eh. Yung iba naman ayaw masyado dumami ang owners ... part of the attraction of a chuvaroo.

Yung sa alarm, yes .. MI tried a 3rd party alarm contractor pero apparently it's buggy. There's OEM subby alarm pero super expensive AFAIK. Most club members don't put na lang expensive stuff inside.

As for the rest, immobilizer at insurance na lang. Hindi naman masyado nakawin yung car kasi di naman ganun karami ang owners.

pup2... actually di ko rin alam ano isipin ko. hehe. on one hand i want to maintain the exclusivity of owning a subaru, on the other hand, i want the demand of spare parts to increase, para magkaroon ng cheaper spare parts sa third party shops. So dapat dumami din ang owners.

but you're right, wala ngang complaints talaga sa subaru. =)

I don't think Chuvaroo wants to delve into the latter. This can be seen from the lack of an engine below 2.0 and a price below 1.25 mil! If you think about it, it's already near the base accord numbers -- for a compact!

OTH it's still waay below euro category even with all-orig parts (unlike, say , Lexus). And guys at subaru club say the performance is comparable if not better. I'm convinced they're targeting something in between ... like a euro/muscle car alternative or a premium Honda substitute.

The numbers say it's working ... but don't expect to go anywhere near mainstream car sales numbers. And don't expect 'replacement' parts anytime soon -- or ever.

you do have a point. oh well, at least exclusive pa rin! hehe.

tanong ko lang pup2... what petrol and brand do you use? recommended ng subaru is 95 ron... pero sabi ng agent... pasado na raw sa tests ang 93 ron. ano ba talaga?

For our Forester and Legacy, we use V-Power.... 97 octane yun. We observed kasi na less than 95 makes the engine sluggish eh.

I've used different gas brands on my Impreza: Caltex Gold, Petron XCS, and Petron E10 (when it was still 95 RON). Haven't tried V-Power yet or Blaze only because they're more expensive. Now my tank's filled up with Seaoil Extreme 97. It seems like it performs better than Caltex Gold. Wala nang nginig sa idling so far.

I wouldn't go below 95 Octane. Kung 95 nakalagay sa manual, sundin mo kahit ano sabi ng SA mo dahil baka ma void pa warranty mo.

Pag mura gas, I go with Blaze kasi parang mas matipid siya at mas malakas. Pag mahal, XCS lang.

This is because walang seaoil anywhere near my route kasi highly recommended ng marami ang Extreme nila.

i don't think it will void the warranty naman. Kundi lahat ng SA nila pinagmumura na ng mga tao.

Running with 93 ron seems pretty ok naman. pero try ko din sa next full tank ko yung 95.

pup2 has a valid point. The warranty itself says that it is void if the wrong fuel is used. Baka pag malaki ang damage baka hindi na i-honor ang warranty because you used 93 octane.

Sakli. Not familiar with the manual of the NA's but honestly, if it says 95 RON MINIMUM it's better to be safe than sorry. Seriously. You're driving a chuvaroo and you skimp on less than a hundred bucks?

I'd agree with this. You're risking the engine's performance/condition a few years down the line.

Not saying it WILL do any damage in the long run (who knows, it may not even), but I doubt manufacturers will randomly require higher RON ratings or bump up the required levels to give their cars a "better" or more "upscale" image.

answer me anyone...why does philippines use such a high octane gas? is it true if they say 95 it is 95 octane?? even subaru's here (where I live) only uses 87 octane except for the turbos or the wrx's..the new wrx can use 91 but its preferred 93. why is that? even here 93 is the highest octane rating.

what year and model is your impreza? the thing is, putting a higher octane to whats preferred doesn't do anything in performance. YES it's true..do your research, you're just wasting your money on gas. regular imprezas are cheap, it's an econobox and only runs on 87, except for wrx's or turbos or the legacy GT..

    source: I own a 2002 wrx before

Kimbo, I read somewhere before that the engines for Asia, the Americas, and Europe have slight differences in them. Although the performance thing is mostly true, what we're avoiding is the premature detonations (since you seem to do your research, you should be very familiar with that.). Also, our owner's manual reccomends 95RON and above.

    ...just saying...

To everyone else, read the whole paragraph re the octane rating in your manual. Our Fozzie's manual says something about above 90RON. check it out.
