I suggest you have #1 fixed. Mukhang honest-to-goodness problem yun.

For #2, whether it's alignment or what, I suggest having your tires' pressures checked first. More than 1 psi difference can make it feel like it's misaligned, being SAWD. Mine were off by 3 psi all around but my other cars have been the same. My ride has had no alignment and no alignment problems in 2.5 years.

For #3, other than the ECU adjusting for your new car, it's possible the brakes are sticking. Hindi po ba nabasa somehow? Or na car wash ng kakagamit lang? Because there have been issues on long-time AT drivers with sticky brakes and some even with broken rotors just because of this -- too excited, I guess. But bring it in just the same.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About the turbo 'not working' -- Just wanted to ask if your engine went into limp mode? AFAIK, if the turbo is broken the whole car will go to limp mode (max of 40 or 60 kph yata) to not damage it further.

On the other hand, it doesn't reach proper boost pressure til about 3500 rpm ... or 130-140 kph. Also, it doesn't have a whistling sound like those on most other turbos -- that or the insulation won't let you hear it. You DO feel a kick but since the delivery is gradual (Subaru boxer turbos are high-compression from the START) it is not easily noticeable except from the speedo -- or a boost gauge.

Caveat on the turbo also, please don't forget to cool down your turbos after a hard-ish run before switching off the engine. This is a common way to bust the turbo.

    # 1 Yeah could be just that....

    # 2 Somebody suggested that to me a few weeks back so I did made sure all tires were pressurized the same yet no improvement

    # 3 Can't be because I've been out of the country for a little more than a week and used it just yesterday and today. Same problem. I'll try to bring it though this week.

I was told by MI service that alignment is covered by the warranty if claimed before the 6th month. They don't have equipment on-site but they can give you an endorsement for the Bridgestone center at The Fort. According to them, Bridgestone has the specs of Subaru vehicles.

Sige, let us know what the problems were. #3) while intriguing can be any of several things but I find #2) extremely strange as I have yet to see the inside of a servitek after 2.5 years.

Walang ganyan for sure..Malabo pang maglabas ng 3 door or kahit coupe version ng Impreza these days, mukhang they'll only stick with the 5 door hatch and sedan form.

    Hi,
I also have the same problem with you but mine is forester xt..problem # 3..I got my forester last december..ever since I got it from MI I can feel the jerk once you stop, shift from D to N and i can also hear a "thug" sound from the transmission. My wife also noticed the jerk and sound, she even asked me bakit ganun. Since it was my first time to drive a subaru and symetrical 4WD or all wheel drive vehicle i thought it was because of that..and hindi ko inisip na there is a "problem" because naisip ko parang impossible naman na magkaproblem agad e brand new and also trusting subaru's brand image and quality..until now it's still the same..my forester is nearing 4000 kms. I didnt mention this when I did my first PMS because nga kala ko all all wheel drive vehicles are like that..I didn't encounter this with the other cars that i drove, even 12 year old cars.. OT lang, parang mas ok ang service ng honda kesa subaru..hehe..can't say much since 1 time palang ako nagpaservice sa MI..baka newbie pa pero yun lang yung nacompare ko..chaka parang mas masusungit mga tao sa MI

    1. Mirror on the windshield is loose which might fall over time. Probably a simple tightening of the fixture from the CASA would do the trick. Though this is minor, its simply just annoying.

    2. Moving on a flat surface, there's a tendency for the car to move to the left when I let go of the steering wheel. The car moves towards the left (slight movement) as well when I brake....This is just another simple wheel alignment job but for f's sake, I've only had the car for 2 weeks with 300+kms clocked in. Really annoying!

    3. Here's the most annoying part. The problem happens when I make a full stop whether from a short or long drive from one point to another (for example, just to stop for a stoplight by applying the brakes without putting the car into Neutral), when I release the brakes a slight jerk happens. I think it has to do with the transmission shifting back to first gear. Could be a delay in gear shift....or could be something wrong with brakes?

I am no expert mechanic but I do have comparable reason having driven AT cars from a lancer, accord, explorer, pajero, and now a santa fe (which shouldn't be comparable since Subaru's are deemed a class higher) and been driving A/T cars mostly all my life.

Hope you guys can shed some light what's wrong with this car especially for point 3.

    Thanks in advance

Any news about the shifter thing? Kung di niyo pa natatanong sa MI, puwede din kayo magtanong sa subaruclub.ph -- madaming info dun. I can't stress this enough because the car has way different performance parameters and quirks.

Naisip ko lang though, if the shifter is in D with brakes on, hindi naman dapat tumunog or mag thud yung trans kasi hindi naman siya nagdi disengage di ba? Kung down shift naman, patingnan niyo since I've had no such experience even on sportshift going down from Kennon.

I've gotten great service from MI -- hindi lang sila palangiti -- more like brutally efficient. OTH, there're lots of Hondas with worse service (puwera lang yung sa QC at yung sa Caloocan).

Ok guys. Sorry for the late reply. Been very busy but brought in my impreza just last week and here are the results.

    1. Rear view mirror was fixed. There's a hinged or clamp that supports the fixture. It was a matter of just re-adjusting it.

    2. MI passed on to me a certificate to be given to this shop at the the fort for re-alignment. Will have to do this soon.

    3. We took a test drive to show the jerking movements upon stop and go without putting the car in to N. The technician said that this is common for AT subarus but couldn't believe it so we took another test drive but this time with their own demo impreza. To my surprise, it had the same thing. I wasn't too sure if he was trying to explain that this is a feature (haha) or a setback of the engine but for me having driven AT cars all my life, this is the first time to experience this. According to them that the engine is still engaged upon stop. But for me, the intelligence of the engine should know when to disengage unless none of them know how to fix it.
Anyway since the car was up for its first general checkup, hoping things would improve but tough luck, nothing has changed.

Guys, according to them I'm the first customer to complain about this. Obviously, they don't have any specific answers especially for non-technical drivers like me. I just drive but don't know jack about engines. So please, if anyone of you are having the same problem, please present this MI and hopefully each one of you have better knowledge on the technicalities of engines and stress to them that this is not normal.

Go test your other AT cars. Believe me. You won't have the same problem.

Ah, wala pa palang alignment machine yung MI dito ... no wonder nakalusot. Must've slipped by MI Singapore's QC!

I'm about sure you're the first one to mention this also. I suggest you ask around at subaruclub.ph since there're quite a few subaru experts who might be able to explain to you.

I couldn't get it myself til I drove my dad's 2.0 accord just this week. I'm starting to develop a theory but can you list the last 2-3 AT cars you've driven?

These are the last 3 cars I've last driven and never had the same jerking movements.
    Mitsubishi Galant 2008
    Hyundai Santa Fe 2007
    Ford Explorer Sportrac 2002

    What's your theory?

I test drove the 2.0L sedan a few moments ago. I experienced that "jerking" (very light) reaction under the Ortigas fly-over, en route to White Planes (we're making a U-turn) for the drive. I did not put the gear in neutral while we were stopped.

During the duration of the test drive of the Impreza with numerous, stop-go situations, I did not experience it again.

The other car I experienced this behaviour is with a V8 Ford Taurus I was driving in the U.S.A. going from SFO Airport to Los Angeles. It happened a few times. Since both has Cruise Control, I would like to make an "un-educated" opinion they're related (I hope I'm absolutely wrong).

May jerk talaga ang AT when you stopped, then let go the brake pedal.
May Lancer CVT has that too. Civic FD has that too. Its normal.

my observation is that under nomal AT mode (not sport mode), the transmission disengages the gear if it senses that you'll be stopping longer than usual. that's why when you release the break and step on the gas too quickly, there's this jerk that is experienced. i guess this is a regular thing for all impreza ATs coz everybody's experiencing this, i guess. maybe it's the car's way of saving fuel (?)

the jerk totally disappears though if you're engaged in sport mode coz the car should know that you'll be driving more spiritedly. hope this helps guys.

I observed the same thing when driving the Subaru Legacy with the A/T in normal mode.

^^I'm not sure about the 2.0 Impreza models, but the current WRX they have in stock is still the '08 spec, so I doubt it. If they'd brought in the superior '09 Rex, I'd have seriously considered it over the Legacy GT.
