40k for Rota rims + the cost of 4 tires.

Copy, same as replicas. For example, Volk Racing makes really really expensive rims. Take TE37 for example, an orig set would set you back at a 6-digit pricing. Rota, which is a local brand, copies the rims and sells it at a cheaper price, usually 40k/set for 18s .. hence the term "copy"

    Hi Forester Guys,

I am very close to purchasing the 2.0XS... hopefully tomorrow ma-close na namin yung deal. Yey! I am so excited.

Last few questions about the head unit. Ma-vo-void ba yung warranty ko if we had it installed outside? How about if I have it installed sa casa or "in-house" before delivery of my unit?

What companies do you suggest I get for this and what model na din? I want the complete package sana with 2 head rest monitors, because I have a very makulit na toddler.

Thank you so much! I can't wait to see other FXS/FXT on the road and I will definitely honk or flash my light when I do.

So after doing some back reading, at around page 130-135, I saw some answers to my questions. Mainly the brands that I can choose from (AVT, FlyAudio, Pioneer)... Pero the question about warranty was not answered there yet. So I will continue some more back reading.

Anyway, can anybody share their experience of the "hand-me-over" procedure? Meron bang checklist of the things I need to inspect during the turnover?

Baka kasi sa sobrang excitement ko, di ko na ma-inspect mabuti. At i-drive ko na lang palabas, like i stole it. Hehehe.

Seriously, kailangan ko ba mag-dala ng mechanico to help me sa inspection/detailing?

Congrats with your new purchase. To answer your questions...

    1. Warranty of head unit if replaced - better to ask your sales agent. Buti na yung galing sa kanya ang advice kaysa sa amin, because you can always refer to him in case you need to claim warranty. You should also refer to the car's warranty booklet which comes separately from the owner's manual. So in case of doubts about what the sales rep says, the booklet will be your final arbiter.

    2. The turn-over - the dealer will give you a checklist of items so you can inspect the car accordingly.

    3. Kailangan ng mekaniko? - I didn't bring one when I got my unit. I felt that if there was something wrong, dapat lang nila ayusin for the amount of money I spent on the car. Pag brand new, madalas naman na halos wala kang alalahanin lalo na pag fresh off the showroom. However, I did experience some rattling in the tailgate 2 wks after I got the car. Binalik ko and after they tightened a few bolts, OK na. No charge (dapat lang). Pero kung mas panatag ang loob mo kung may kasama kang mekaniko, then that's your choice.

Good luck and enjoy the ride.

    Thanks a lot, Sir Jack!

I have another question, if you don't mind.

If I buy my car sa Alabang, can I have it serviced at Fort or Greenhills? These are nearer my work place, and my home, respectively.

But the color that I want is only available sa Alabang, so I will go there tomorrow to finally pay and seal the deal. My agent said I'll be able to get my unit on Saturday. Yey!! Can't wait.

    Thanks again, Sir.

Sir vw, mas prefer daw nila na sila magkabit, dala lang ng relay dahil wala sila masyado gamit dun. Sa Greenhills branch to sir.
Post naman ng pics un mga nagpalit na ng rims =) Thanks!

Kahit saan mo pa service wala kang problema.. Yung sa Alabang is a franchised .. Yung ortigas at fort company owned by MI..

Regarding yellow fogs, most subbys nagpapa overlay.. Look for CarloV in subysoc, siya yung nag overlay ng mga kotse.

    Thanks, Sir ImperialV!

I went to Alabang this morning and paid for my Forester already. This is my first Subaru car.

Sirs, question. Are our Foresters 2012 or 2013 model? My agent said it's 2013. I am confused because I know this was released in our country last year, right?

Anyway, I am now surfing the subarupartsonline website... I got a couple of items I want to buy... but I want to double check first if it will really fit mine.

I like this splash guard: https://www.subaruonlineparts.com/pr...4cd697d271fe8f

But according to the info below, it fits 2009, 2010 and 2011 models. And it is part number: J1010SC020...

Meron po ba sa manual indicating the part numbers that will fit? I don't have my manual yet...

    Thank you so much.

Those splash guards will fit the 2012/2013 SH. I clearly remember those manuals when I installed the splash guards on my FXT recently.

Technically its 2013 year model. It was produced last quarter of 2012 at the Subaru Japan plant.

2014 is the for the all new body to be launched in June or earlier.

Just had my 1k 1month service sa casa, had the alarm also put in, it's the avt alarm that uses the same remote key no other remote.Question is when I arm the alarm it chirps once and then another series of beeps 4 ata. What is that? All my doors naman are closed. Also it auto locks when I start the engine, can I have that changed to when the forester hits 20 kph instead? Thanks in advance

Calistro had the horn installed by Autoline used the mitsuba slim snail. Loving it now other drivers turn around when I honk.

Hindi kaya yung 4 beeps meaning yung shock sensor is off... Maybe you should consult the alarm's manual.

Just wanted to share updates on my car na rin (silver 2.0 XS) -

Had my 1 month PMS na finally last week, I brought it in after 2 months lol. At that point I only had around 900KM mileage, but I figured I'd bring it in na rin so that I can change oil to fully synthetic. Ok pala, it's done so fast - brought it in by 715 sharp and done by 11 AM (they even called me!) with free car wash. They even attached my plates for me, along with the deflector cover I bought. Great service. And the cost was 5,304 as usual.

Any tips guys on increasing fuel efficiency? I'm doing only 15-16L/100KM Sometimes, even 17 or 18. Granted that is mostly in heavy mandaluyong-makati traffic on weekdays, and the usual zips around the metro on weekends. Ang gaan-gaan ko na nga sa accelerator, with RPMs mostly below 2000.

I feel so lucky I was able to score one of the last 2013 Foresters - I saw the new one in the casa, and I really prefer the look of mine. Plus, they stripped out a lot of things from the new base/XS model (which has the same engine anyway, so no biggie). No sunroof! Baduy. Hehe.

Seeing the specs of the 2014 Forester 2.0XS, I don't have any the regrets getting one last year. Only regret is I wasn't offered the astronomical discounts of 200K or something that were supposedly offered to buyers of the remaining units. In fact, I didn't get any discounts bec. I reserved last year March when supplies were still tight.

AFAIK, the 2014 Forester XS omits the sunroof, dual exhaust, and the LCD climate control. It still uses the same FB20 engine with a new CVT (the reliability of which we shall see in the future).

As for the oil change service, a fast turn around is necessary for casa of any brands so that way they can serve more units therefore more revenues. By experience with oil changes, such a fast turn around will not allow a more thorough dripping of the old oil. I estimate it takes around 3 hrs + for oil to finish dripping. They finished doing my Forester in a little over 2hrs (from arrival at gate for queue number to vehicle claim). Also Motor Image Greenhills has very limited space in their 3rd flr service area, so it may appear to be being serviced that long but it actually spent alot of that time parked on the side.

*number001, sir I believe the 200k discounts were offered starting January 2013. And the choices for body paint was also limited by that time, so most 2012 XSs rolling out today would either be phantom black or ice silver.

*gabster_26, sir gabster, you may try increasing tire pressure. Going from 30 to 32 all around for me improved mileage, although sacrifcing a little comfort over unpaved roads.

Re: 2014 forester, I like the aesthetic changes on the tail lights, the doors and the information display. XT variant is another beast altogether. Does a TPMS come with it? Other than that, they'll probably introduce an improvement on the front grill. Looks better on the XV and the impreza IMO
