RAV4 AWD vs Forester ba ito?

This looks like RAV4 FWD na Hybrid Electric -- that should be 30+ MPG city

If AWD RAV4 yan, 20's parin yan city, unless they go below 2.0L -- di ba 2.5L itong 2019 RAV4? Huge engineering feat kapag AWD 2.5L naging 30+ city na walang electric motor, talbog lahat ng brands pag may nauna jan.

Anyway, hindi naman Toyota vs Honda ang usapan -- Toyota vs Subaru -- never naman nanalo sa MPG si Subaru dahil full-time AWD standard palagi at any trim, never nila inaalis. Unless may milagro, AWD MPG will always be less than FWD. AWD is always +200-300 lbs effective -- parang may pasahero ka lagi 2-3.

With no turbo variant for the upcoming generation, Motor Image is ordering more of the current XT model to meet demand. As f this year, the XT model accounts for 40-45% of current Forester sales.

Sabi nga nila, buy now while supply lasts. I would say they will keep selling the SJ XT model even when the new platform is released for sale early next year.

If You Have This Type of Car, You Need This to Prevent Damage to Your Engine - Oil Catch Can - YouTube

With Subaru’s move to direct injection engines, I think this might be an essential upgrade.

Anyone here have or is planning to install an oil catch can?

Maybe I should just get a walnut blaster and clean my intake ports regularly.

Never na rin ulit ako magkakabit nun high-flow air filter na need pa basain ng oil from time to time.

A review of the 2019 Forester. US folks say it is under-powered with its 2.5L NA engine (what more for the 2.0L NA our region will be getting) and it is boring. However, it gets the job done.

I'm planning to buy a Forester. Should I wait for a 2019 model or choose the 2018 model Forester XT?

If you want the new platform, then wait for the local release of the new Forester.

If you want quickness and pace in a crossover, then by all means get the outgoing Forester XT. Subaru will stop putting turbo engines on the Forester on its next generation.

If you want something new and with a turbo engine, wait for the release of the Levorg 2.0DIT wagon. It is practically a WRX in wagon form. Price is expected to be at 1.998M.

Thank you, I drove the XT and I really enjoyed the power. SO i guess I would prefer the turbocharging engine rather than electrification technologies. I also drove XV with eyesight and feel a bit annoying.

If you really want it, go for the XT. The discounts make them more appealing to buyers. If you want a something quicker but still good for a family vehicle, go for the Levorg 2.0DIT wagon but it does not have the ground clearance of the Forester XT.

Ground clearance is also important since the road and weather condition in the country is unpredictable. And coz the XT will be dropped, I just hope the parts still be available in the next 4-5 years or so.

Don’t worry too much. The Forester platform shares a lot of common parts with the Impreza, XV, Levorg, and WRX. If you don’t mind the gas consumption, the Forester XT is one good all-in-one family vehicle - a comfortable and big crossover for the wife & kids plus a sporty & fast ride for the husband. With my lead foot, I average around 6-7 km/L for city driving and 10-12 km/L on the highway.

Pretty acceptable for me I guess. I have no concern with regards to the gas consumption. What I like more is the versatility of the interior and offer offroad prowess.
