A review of the 2019 Forester. US folks say it is under-powered with its 2.5L NA engine (what more for the 2.0L NA our region will be getting) and it is boring. However, it gets the job done.

There won't be a turbo on the Forester anytime soon. It wasn't selling well in most parts of the world compared to its NA counterpart.

The primary reason the XT is not selling well on North America is that most buyers find the base 2.5L 4-banger adequate for their needs. Dito sa atin, binarat yung base model kasi yung 2.0L lang.

MT Forester sales were even worse so no more MT option on the new Forester.

The new Forester is built on the same platform as the Ascent. It is bigger but lighter than the SJ platform.

The new CX5 has the turbo option and I am hoping Subaru would do the same for the new Forester.

Maybe Subaru would sell a stock 300-hp Forester STi in the near future. That would be really something special.

We would most likely get a hybrid Fozzie as a local option.

Any owners yet of this new model to share their experiences?

I've shortlisted my choices to include this year's model for our next CUV.

I like that they included Eyesight on all variants, I don't really need a turbo, being a family man changes one's priorities, obviously.

Why not give the new Forester a test drive? It will address all your questions about the model.

By the way, I am a family man also and my wife & daughter prefer our quicker XT than our newer small crossover, ASX. The ASX might be no slouch with its 2.0L NA 150hp/200Nm engine but it is not as peppy as the XT.

Hehe, call it coincidence but we were in SM North yesterday and it was on display and I spent about an hour looking over everything I could. (My wife was kind enough to leave me there while she went window shopping, haha).

The SA made sure he explained all of the safety features when I told him I had a young child and that safety was one of my priorities, from the Eyesight features, the re-designed door pillars and safety cage with the reinforced steel. He even showed me where the capture mechanism for the doors were so they won't cave in during a collision or an accident. All very impressive.

Although, all the new models don't have the turbo anymore, I don't mind as much due to the 'precious cargo' now on board, or will be if I acquire one as our next family car. Safety, comfort and reliability are top on the list.

I think that's what struck me the most about the new Fozzie with all of it's features, it really does evoke "Family Car".

All I need now is P1.8M so that I can get the TOTL model. Know anybody in need of a kidney?

Subaru has been proud of its all-around, all-weather family-oriented sport utility vehicles. Foresters and Outbacks are loved by owners across the world.

I know it's not much but if you do not plan to switch to aftermarket mats, ask for another set.

Might go for a set of WeatherTech mats, but your suggestion is a good one. Thanks Yamahead.
