even cars dot com put it 2nd place just behind the tiguan in their cuv video.

i wish they digitalized the car instrument panel instead of that extension display.

More 2019 RAV4 vs Forester comparison reviews. As the reviewers say, CUVs are family vehicles and they need to be spacious, safe, and affordable. The Forester meets those requirements better than the Rav4.

I noticed this new Forester is really slab sided and really boxy like a loaf of bread! Even the the front face is so boxy and shapeless. But thats the reason why it has lots of space available inside.

This would be at the top of my list if I buy a new vehicle soon.

Guys what are your thoughts on the mud brown leather upholstery seen on the US market units? I think MI should bring this here. The gray leather interior on the Ph market looks really dull and leatherette vinyl like in appearance and feel.

Hi guys! I’m choosing between 2019 Subaru Forester 2.0iS and 2019 Honda CRV 1.6S as a our new CUV. My concern with the Subaru is the reliability of the CVT Tranny. Saw some rants and articles about it’s poor reliability. Based on your experience is Subaru’s CVT really that bad? Thank you.

Subaru cvt failures are attributed to adding more boost to the engine. If u keep it stock, cvt is durable.

Up to u what to buy. Ü

No issues with my Forester XT. I am now 40k km with it, after three years of ownership. Subaru just requires you change CVTF every 40k km actual mileage. I had the CVTF changed around 36k km.

It’s not the day-to-day reliability that some people are concerned of, it’s the thought that when the CVT breaks, it has to be replaced whole. Unlike the traditional AT where it can be fixed when it breaks.

Yes Sir Egan, that is exactly my reservation right now about the 2019 Forester. It seems the CVT is replaceable only and not repairable. Although may 5 years warranty naman na ang Subaru, it still is a long term concern. Also sir how much is the cost of the 40k cvtf replacement? Thank you.

Just got my Forester 2.0iL a couple of days ago - I can't figure out how to use HDMI or the Android setting on the entertainment console, not in the manual too. Anyone have experience using these features? TIA!

PS the adaptive cruise control is awesome! much better than the one I have on my Everest

Boss just like to ask if you have put tint on the windshield? They suggest not to put tint on the eyesight and that device is very sensitive. I just had a reservation earlier for the 2.0iL also.

You can put tint on the front as long as you sign their waiver.

hi, no I didn't put tint on the windshield as advised by the account manager. I also noticed that for a few seconds, Eyesight 'turned off' (there's a notification) when there was very strong rain. It turned back on automatically so all good. All in all, am quite happy with the Forester (coming from driving an Explorer and an Everest, much easier to drive).

Hello! any new updates sa inyong 2019 Forester? Pros/ Cons? PMS, cost & availability of parts? Would appreciate any insights as I'm really considering this over the CR-V 2.0 (gasoline)

The new generation Forester uses a different platform but it uses the same engine and tranny as the previous generation. It is also the same engine as the XV. PMS cost will be the same as the previous generation Forester. However, warranty has been extended from 3 years to 5 years.

To save on PMS cost, just bring your own oil to Motor Image. Boxer engines only use fully synthetic oils. Parts would not be a big problem unless you get into a big accident or if you have a broken engine or broken tranny. The usual wear & tear parts (filters, bushings, brake pads) can easily be sourced outside for a lower cost.

I had my FXT for more than 3 years now and I have had no big issues so far. Thank goodness. We have other other cars also - Honda, Ford, Kia, VW, and Mitsubishi. It terms of quality, Subaru is as good as with most Japanese brands.

Use that 50k for labor cost, you can bring your own fluid and parts to save a bit more. Congrats on your new Subie!
