Hi guys! I’m choosing between 2019 Subaru Forester 2.0iS and 2019 Honda CRV 1.6S as a our new CUV. My concern with the Subaru is the reliability of the CVT Tranny. Saw some rants and articles about it’s poor reliability. Based on your experience is Subaru’s CVT really that bad? Thank you.

No issues with my Forester XT. I am now 40k km with it, after three years of ownership. Subaru just requires you change CVTF every 40k km actual mileage. I had the CVTF changed around 36k km.
It’s not the day-to-day reliability that some people are concerned of, it’s the thought that when the CVT breaks, it has to be replaced whole. Unlike the traditional AT where it can be fixed when it breaks.

Yes Sir Egan, that is exactly my reservation right now about the 2019 Forester. It seems the CVT is replaceable only and not repairable. Although may 5 years warranty naman na ang Subaru, it still is a long term concern. Also sir how much is the cost of the 40k cvtf replacement? Thank you.

Just got my Forester 2.0iL a couple of days ago - I can't figure out how to use HDMI or the Android setting on the entertainment console, not in the manual too. Anyone have experience using these features? TIA!
PS the adaptive cruise control is awesome! much better than the one I have on my Everest
Subaru cvt failures are attributed to adding more boost to the engine. If u keep it stock, cvt is durable.
Up to u what to buy. Ü

Good day. Will there be any changes to the 2020 Subaru Forester? Will MI PH bring in the sport or the touring variant? Thank you.
