You just can't compare athletes from different era, period.
Just like the Jordan vs. Kobe/LBJ thing, the Tiger Woods vs Jack Nicklaus debate will never end as well...
Kanya-kanyang perspective nalang yan...
If you base it objectively (stats), may hihirit padin such as opponent quality, teammates, etc etc...
Wala namang definite description of what greatness is in the NBA, is it the number of Championship rings you have? If that's the case, Jordan can't even touch Russel in that case... Not by a yard!
Jordan revolutionized the NBA like how Russel/Chamberlain, Dr. J and the Magic/Bird did during their time... If you've lived through those glory days, the oldies might just snicker when you mention Jordan...
Same thing with guys that grew up with Jordan's dominance, today's new guys will never measure up.
If you get to ask today's 10yo++ crowd that follows the NBA ten years from now about who were the great players in their heyday, you'll hear LBJ, Wade, Kobe, AI, etc etc...
30 years from now, only old farts like us (when we're 50-70yo) will say things like how great Jordan, Magic etc are...
Different times, different era, different standards.Last edited by theveed; January 23rd, 2006 at 09:45 PM.

Good point it is very difficult to compare players in different eras pero di parin maiiwasan mag compare, it will eventually pop up hehe....
Pag nasa 40's or 50's na tayo naglalaro parin kaya tayo ng Fantasy Basketball? :bwahaha:

"I was just fighting through it," wika ni James. "I was trying to fight through a cold, but I didn't want to make any excuses. I didn't want to be in the position where I wasn't there for my team tonight."
"He was terrific. He made his shots and he's just a wonderful player," wika ni Jazz coach Jerry Sloan. "I think we're intimidated by him a great deal."

January 24th, 2006 02:16 AM #4150IMHO, a player may score 60 -100 points in a game but it does not completely make him a great one. It shows individuality. Basketball is still a team game and consistently getting triple-doubles show that a player's game is multi-faceted which separates the great from the not-so-great.
up for suzuki
