Re: Houston Rockets
Houston needs to go after a big PF preferably someone who is a bruiser in the Antonio Davis mold.
if and when they get a PF of that caliber expect them to be very very deep in the playoffs, probably giving Phoenix, and Dallas the jitters. altho might be still not enough to topple SA.
Also Houston needs some fresh young athletic bodies. Only Tracy McGrady fits that mold. David Wesley, Bob Sura, Barry just can't cut it. Mike James is a good guy to have off the bench.
Mmm... Paul Pierce on the trading block? Any proposed deals?
heard it on the radio yesterday. Hornets are offering Magloire + draft picks for Pierce, and Clipper proposed a deal involving Corey Maggette. no comment lang si Ainge, but it appears he's at least listening to offers.Originally Posted by ILuvDetailing

The Magette deal is better IMHO. The Celts already have a budding 2nd year PF in Al Jefferson. Right now, with their PG situation in doubt (Payton is an unrestricted free agent), they're better off having a GF who can play some point. There's an inherent risk, though since Pierce is a proven playoff performer with averages of 26-6-6 (points, boards, assists) while Magette still has to go beyond the 1st round of the playoffs. Still, Magette fits the youth movement and their up-tempo style under Doc Rivers.Originally Posted by M54 Powered

according to the report it was Maggette plus another, unnamed player for Pierce. hehe, this reminds me of our fantasy league...i forgot who owned Pierce, but i sent him a hundred different offers with different combinations of Maggette for Pierce....REJECTED lahat
also, re: the Hornets offer, Magloire actually plays center so he and Al Jeff on the frontcourt would be pretty strong, with LaFrentz off the bench.
other news/rumors i just heard on ESPN tv:
Bucks offer Michael Redd a new max contract according to the CBA. 80-90 million daw
Nets are trying like crazy to get a FA big man - their short list is Stromile Swift, Donyell Marshall, or Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Cavaliers, at the urging of "GM Lebron", are trying to resign Ilgauskas and also acquire one of the top FA SG...Ray Allen, Michael Redd or Larry Hughes

Not even close. Michael Jordan for me is still the best NBA player ever. If you are going to compare the number of rings Kobe has early on in his career then your a fool. Why? Kobe is not even the main man of LA when he got those three rings. He still needs to prove himself now that he is the main man of LA before he can be compared to Jordan.
tska na ninyo pagtalunan yan pag nag retire na din si kobe. hu knows mag flop ang career nya sumday ryt? hehe. for me jordan's better coz 1 - man team cya n pang crucial/crunch time talaga eh.not to mention his versatility n freakin shots in n out the paint.lalo na pag nag switch ng shot.parang nag kape pa sa ere amp dba? hahaha!
Ray allen already rejected a 50mil extention. I think he's looking for the Max.
Bucks can offer the max while the rest can offer a maximum of around 60+mil to Michael Redd, thats a lot of moolah. However I don't think Redd a Max player. If the Bucks can't keep him, my bet is a sign and trade possibly with a third team.
other interesting topics:
Will Robert "Big Shot Bob" Horry re-sign with the Spurs or join his pal Shaq in Miami?
Will Chicago match any offer to their restricted free agent Eddie Curry and Tyson Chandler?
Don't think Spurs will also let go of Bigshot Bob after what he did in the finals.
more news: Miami Heat PG Damon Jones declines to exercise a $2.75m option and is now a free agent. i guess he wants to cash in from last year's 3-point barrage.
this is great news for me because most of the regulars here know that i HATE DJ. maybe some other team will overpay him and find out that he is one-dimensional at best (ever see a PG that can't dribble?) and is absolutely worthless without Shaq or Wade drawing doubles and kicking out to him.
There is only one and that is Jordan. Model NBA player: He finished college and gained experience from the NCAA. He was drafted and dazzled the NBA (both players and fans). As was mentioned earlier, he brought out the best in his team mates and lifted their games. He played with heart (games where he was sick and lost his dad). He played with discipline and control. Le Bron might be the next great one but for me Jordan is the one to be emulated, even Le Bron knows that.
Miami might have their sights set on Gary Payton with their limited cap space.
jordan graduated college. he just went to the nba early but he still finish. in 86 when he got injured, he finished hi s degree. si shaq bga kala nyo d nagtapos, graduate din but more than 5 years delayed.
