plus Chucky Atkins is over paid at 4.5 mil. Caron Butler was expendable because of Lamar Odom and the injured Devean George (who obviously drew little interest).

oh well i guess during the Jermaine/Dale Davis trade everyone is saying portland did a good job since DD is an effective defense player already and they cannot wait for jermaine to blossom since they are positioning in the higher brackets in the playoffs...

sayang sana lineup nila nung 2000 would be
    C-jermaine oneal
    PF-sheed
    SF-pippen
    SG-derek Anderson/steve smith
    PG-mighty mouse

This lineup almost won the NBA championship, if not for the 4th quarter breakdown against Lakers. They were never the same since.

Kwame Brown has two years left in his contract, if he breaks out and performs the Lakers resign him, if he's a bust they get below the salary cap and go after Yao or Stoudamire, or any marquee free agent.

i'm just hoping Kwame removes the bust tag from himself and come to his own. Phil and Kobe better whip him into shape.

Kwame Brown better shape up or he'll be Kobe's whipping boy, since Devean George is injured. :bwahaha:

    Bad news for Milwaukee.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Top NBA draft pick Andrew Bogut made his presence felt by blocking three shots, but the Milwaukee Bucks otherwise were overwhelmed by the Minnesota Timberwolves 102-69 in a summer league opener Friday night.

The 7-foot-1 Bogut, a former Utah star chosen by the Bucks with the No. 1 pick of the draft, was whistled for five fouls in the first half and finished with 7 points in 28 minutes of action.

He struggled inside against Minnesota centers Dwayne Jones, Nick Horvath and David Simon.

Uh oh Andrew Bogus. Minnesota centers are virtual UNKNOWNS.

    the australian Sam Bowie.

btw, what is this crap about Pat Riley firing Stan van Gundy and taking up the coaching reins himself? it's a rumor i saw on the local Miami news sites.

what a tough life...win the best record in the East and make it to the conference finals despite injuries to your two all-NBA superstars, and still face controversies about keeping your job....buhay nga naman.

coz Riley is also an ego maniac, wants to win 1 more ring para walang masabi na nanalo lang siya bec he had Kareem AND Magic plus a bunch of others who are also very very good in ONE team.

Duh, you need the horses to win a championship. I don't buy all that crap about PJ riding the coatails of MJ and Pippen, or Shaq and Kobe. Fact is, they all need each other, a great coach can't win it without great players nor great players can't win without a great /capable coach. Geez they media people can't find anything good to write about.

Donyell Marshall seems like a good fit in Toronto.

Chip Engelland, diba yun ang shooting coach ni Grand Hill and Steve Kerr?

kaya pala Jason Kidd DID NOT Demand for trade last season eventhough his 03 east champ lineup was in dismantle (kmart, kittles)

The New Jersey Nets have found their replacement for Kenyon Martin. And he's coming at a real bargain.

A team source said the Nets and Blazers agreed in principle to a sign-and-trade that will get them Shareef Abdur-Rahim on a six-year contract worth roughly $38 million.

In return, the Nets will send a lottery protected 2006 first-round pick to the Blazers.

It's a great deal for the Nets.

The Nets refused to pay Martin, their last power forward, a max contract last summer and eventually traded him to the Nuggets for three future first round picks. The Nets used some of those picks to acquire Vince Carter from the Toronto Raptors at midseason. Now they'll use the trade exception they received from the Martin deal to acquire Abdur-Rahim.
