Is it just me but it seems like sa mga mapera na vloggers wala na atang pandemic, is it the same for other rich folks? Travel, shopping, kain sa labas I don't even know what these people will use new things for (bags, shoes, jewelry etc).

folks are simply tired of the pandemic mask + face shield + un-social behavior...

they want life to back to as they remember.

evolving new variants is nothing new.
the influenza virus has many types, subtypes, and strains.

what i wish for, is that the subsequent covid variants will prove to be as lethal to ordinary humen as the common cold...

who knows,
the covid 19 virus might eventually disappear into the pages of medical history as an ordinary, self-limiting, non-lethal virus...

even the popular flu vaccine is only 40-60% effective...

50% effective is a lot better than 0% effective (aka no vaccine).
yes, i know it smacks of the "puede na" mentality.
but hey! think "herd immunity".

personally,
i think the preference of some markets for pfizer and astra over sinovac, is more of a political decision...
but that's just me.

pfizer and moderna's vaccines cause the immune system to make very specific antibodies coz they present only the spike protein to the immune system

sinopharm and sinovac's inactivated virus vaccines present the whole virus to the immune system so antibodies produced are varied (the body makes antibodies to more parts of the virus not only the spike) -- parang antibodies in convalescent plasma

that may explain why pfizer and moderna's vaccines have higher efficacy coz antibodies produced are concentrated

in inactivated virus vaccines many of the antibodies produced aren't very useful and the most useful ones (the ones that bind to the spike) aren't as many

keep in mind all SARSCOV2 vaccines being manufactured now are designed based on older variants of the virus (as old as January 2020 variants)
