Example, sa meralco nagtest sila last week for all employees in preparation for resumption of work. My nephew works there. Yung isa na nakasabay nya last saturday was for retest (swabbing) kasi positive sa antibody test (blood sample). Madami talaga lalabas na asymptomatic na carriers.

    yep

the reason why i keep saying the virus is more widspread than official numbers suggest is because of the reproductive number (i'm a nerd)

SARSCOV2's r0 is between 2 to 4 (some estimates are even higher) so that makes it more contagious than flu

so how can a virus more contagious than flu be uncommon?

it's out there spreading thru the population and only 20% end up in hospital

the rest feel nothing or have flu-like symptoms not bad enough to stay in bed

    magulo yung dalawa.

para bang, may ibang kinokonsulta yung isa...

puede rin naman na kinonsulta nga si doh. then he made his own decision, based on the konsulta and other inputs.

as for the classes... the education issue should be the DECS's decision, based on doh recommendation and other inputs' .
or, the president's, based on his consultation of the DECS and other inputs.

    so i wonder,
is there a standard protocol on who should be making and announcing these complex decisions?
para hindi magulo, dapat isa lang.
or, kung dalawa sila, dapat isa lang ang script na babasahin.

The same holds true for a company run by different department and many bosses. You don't know whom to follow.

    Japan Vaccine update

Japan’s AnGes continues surge as coronavirus vaccine candidate moves closer to human trials | The Japan Times

That report followed the announcement by AnGes that animal trials of the vaccine had confirmed an increase in antibodies in tests it had been conducting with Osaka University since March.

“We will examine the results of the toxicity data and swiftly move forward to clinical trials,” AnGes said in a statement Monday.

DNA vaccines are a novel type of vaccine that use genetic material from pathogens to produce antibodies by inducing an immune system response. Such a vaccine has yet to be approved for human use anywhere in the world, but the technology has attracted attention for their purported safety and ease of large-scale manufacturing.

it sure sounds like a feat, and it may sound like my sour grapes, but
wasn't the original objective, 11M in 10 days?

If antibody tests only, the results can be known in an hour or less. They will need to do a swab test for those who test positive. Ang problema e yung false negatives. Maybe the medical experts believe the false negatives number will be very small and therefore negligible?

    personally,
    if they were my patients,
i would order for both pcr and antibody, simultaneously. para wala nang balik-balik.
never been infected versus currently infected versus convalescent.
    but that's just me.

    3 things

    1 - SK's contact tracing is hardcore

they traced and tested 83,000 people coz of that nightclub incident

    how many layers is that?

    amazing

    2 - 83,000 tests and found 247 positives

    3 - 30% of the 247 are asymptomatic
