While China decided in a matter of days to shutdown all transportation in Hubei before the Wuhan virus spread to other provinces , other countries took their sweet time and are paying the consequence.

A national lockdown to stop coronavirus? Trump is '''thinking about doing that'''

Why are they not showing the total "active" case (total case less deaths + recovered) ?

Hindi lang dito satin pero sa ibang bansa din, yes total case is important so you'll know how big of the population got the infection already but I think important din yung total active # of cases.

How true is it that Arranque Market (manila) and Agora (san juan) are closed due to positive virus cases?

Some notes from the Inter Agency Task Force (IATC) meeting with Banks:

    1. Based on estimates, it looks like best option is that after April 14, there will be another 2week lockdown for NCR only, given 75% of cases are clustered in Metro Manila (another 10% in CALABARZON). This is to avoid a second wave of infections.

    2. Gov't sees peak infection arrive by April 14, seeing approx 23k infections. 19% will need hospitalization, 5% will need ICU, 2% will expire. We now have 300K testing kits, enough to cover 120k people.

    3. What we have on our side is that (a) young median age of 23.9 and (b) PH is an archipelago, helping the slowdown of the spread of covid unlike in the US and Italy

    4. Govt is willing to tolerate a 7% to GDP deficit. They still want to be lower than the global average.

    5. Main goal of the stimulus is to help SME's and to make sure they keep their people employed.

    6. They're proposing to issue 10-year negative yielding loans to SME's with the only limit of a max 50% of total cost. Banks will play a major part in rolling these out (no concrete details yet). In Cong. Salceda's example, if a 100k loan is given out, the borrower will only need to pay 90k. The balance will be paid by the government, who will appropriate the cost in their future budgets.

    7. Biggest structural problem will be the influx of OFW (Est at 230k - 240k people) coming back to the country, weakening out remittances and increasing demand for local jobs. Cong. Salceda estimates that locally, 1.1mn workers will be displaced.

    8. Some industries might need bail out (Hotels, tourism, airlines)

    Ewan ko kung totoo

pero i wont complain if ilockdown yung district 6 kasi three barangays double digit.

SG govt announced a mellowed lockdown version...calling it "circuit breaker".
they'll intensify already in-effect social distancing measures.
    more workspaces to be closed.
shops/offices providing essential services will be operational.
being a smart city...i don't see any much effect kahit gawin nilang total lockdown.

and change tune na sila regarding face masks:
they won't discourage the public to wear facemasks.

dati kasi wear it only if you are sick.
