bakit hindi ata lumabas sa news to? pero yung test kits galing China nabalita agad... oh boy if this is true then our government is really kissing Xi J1np1ng's ass. First is the intentional travel ban on Taiwan (unintentional daw) now this? inuna pa magpapogi sa China kaysa sa test kits

The doctor who helped defeat smallpox explains what’s coming | Ars Technica

This is a very good read from a true expert in the field.

Excerpt from when he talks about how to gain herd immunity:

    Flatten the curve.

By slowing it down or flattening it, we're not going to decrease the total number of cases, we're going to postpone many cases, until we get a vaccine—which we will, because there's nothing in the virology that makes me frightened that we won’t get a vaccine in 12 to 18 months. Eventually, we will get to the epidemiologist gold ring.

    What’s that?

That means, A, a large enough quantity of us have caught the disease and become immune. And B, we have a vaccine. The combination of A plus B is enough to create herd immunity, which is around 70 or 80 percent.

There's news that this will be extended if the numbers don't improve. Once a day na lang kaya ako kakain to extend our stock ng chicken. I've one friend once a day na rin lang

sana pag nag start na PGH to be the Covid center, puno stock nila ng mga PPE at kung ano pa man kelangan ng mga frontliners para hinde matulad sa UST at Medical City na pati frontliners na expose sa virus. hingi na din sila ng extra respirator on standby...

There was one person on the Grand Princess who was positive but completely asymptomatic for a while. He was even in the at-risk age group (70s) and parang wala lang talaga. Funny thing is he was completely fine but COVID positive, while his wife got sick with fever and coughs but was negative.

Edit: he did eventually get sick pala. But at the time he was positive with no symptoms for a long while.

my SARS based research about sa amount of viral loads relative to sickness level. sabi dun people tend to get sicker if a huge amount of viral load gets into your body. small viral load intakes will give your body more time to recover. baka small viral load lang nalanghap ni Zubiri just enough to infect him but not enough to make him really sick. importante talaga yung facemask, mahawa ka man at least konting viral loads lang papasok nafilter out na mostly ng mask.

I've worn 3 pcs in the airport(and on a 7+hr flight) coz so many were coughing...

my breathing pattern is quite good. Also I'm near 2300masl(i'm used to low Oxygen)

not an issue for me. it could be for others though...

if mask (or masks in your case) doesn't seal properly against your face then it's useless. air takes the path of least resistance so it won't pass through the filter, so you'll be inhaling unfiltered air

yes i'm talking about those surgical masks that people like to use useless

i wonder how the frontliners coping donned with PPEs sans the hot weather / environment 12hrs++ straight. some of them are working without ACs pa.

That's what discouraged my Mom from going out kasi I would make her wear a mask. When I tried it myself, mahirap pala huminga!

I make sure its sealed. I have tried using my hand to seal the borders and i know the pressure necessary for the 2 masks...

A list surreptitiously taken from inside the RITM shows the priority list for politicians and VIP's. It's been going around numerous group chats.

List of Philippine public figures who underwent COVID-19 testing - Wikipedia

There's also changes in the RITM leadership supposedly because there were conflicts on who should get tested first.

^ inurong daw iyong order na palit ritm director. let's see how it plays out on tues afternoon because that's when he usually reports for work.

ubos na ba iyong calamity fund? w/ the taal eruption expenses, ganoon kaya kabilis nagamit iyon?

he's got a P 7 billion(?) budget (at least) earmarked for the office of the president. bakit kaya ayaw galawin iyon?
