While we do squint in bright light, I don't think eye shape or size has any relation to the amount of light we see siguro. (i.e. a "permanent" squint by being slant eyed won't have any advantage in bright light compared to those more "round" eyed.)

One of my cousins, pag tumawa, wala nang mata talaga (siya yung pinaka singkit sa amin, like Majin Buu in Dragonball). When we were kids, biniro ko if he could still see when we were laughing, oo naman daw. No difference. Hindi naman daw dumidilim.
