    conspiracy theory:

in developed countries their governments have tons of pension liabilities

as retirees live longer and not enough young people enter the workforce (low birth rate), their social security systems lacks funding

solution: a virus that shortens the life of retirees

dont see anything wrong with when in manila's post since it is not edited nor taken on a different day, well unless someone proved otherwise. in fact, this kind of post should help stop the virus spread in wuhan had it not been censored by their gonvernment. People there was led to believe everything is normal until it is too late.
we are lucky we do not have the same censoreship here, or do we? the real danger of this virus is not from people staying indoors or panick buying but when our healthcare system gets overwhelmed by patients up to the point of doctors/nurses starting to get sick. that is wuhan right there :hppy

Attendee at political summit featuring Trump has coronavirus | Inquirer News

Some on Grand Princess angry at Trump comments, Pence announcement - Los Angeles Times

Loftus was not the only one unhappy with the administration. Vice President Mike Pence announced the positive cases during a news conference Friday afternoon, before passengers had been informed. The cruise line and the captain of the ship both later said they were unaware of the results prior to the televised announcement. Multiple passengers interviewed by the Los Angeles Times said they would have preferred the news be given to them first.

Adding more uncertainty for some passengers was President Trump’s statement Friday that he would prefer any quarantine take place on the ship, rather than allowing passengers to dock in California — in part to prevent increasing the number of confirmed cases on U.S. soil. Pence said the vessel would be allowed to dock at a noncommercial port this weekend, though he did not say where.

    interrupted buhay mo at best

positive ka din which is worse

In US, 65% of hospital beds are already occupied at any given time so that leaves them with 35% more to possibly care for critically ill coronavirus patients. Sa Pinas kaya , ilang beds ang occupied satin at any given time? 65 sa US so satin lets say 85-90% so meron nlng tayong 10+% to accomodate this virus.... damn!

i will not be surprised if DOH will use SoGo para maging quarantine facilities na if things really go south.

may friend kami na galing greenhills nung friday, di pa naman announced noon na may nag-positive nung hapon. sabi namin mag self-quarantine siya or mag voluntary check-up sa hospital. ang ginawa pa imbes ay nagbakasyon sa south. siguro kasama talaga sa dymptoms nitong virus yung sudden urge to travel.

syempre nobody wants to stay home for 2 weeks

lahat ng tao may work my plans may lakad etc

kaya i think malabo ung voluntary quarantine

pero when you're on the receiving end of forced quarantine bad trip yun

    --

nakakatakot din reaction ng mga tao

like say officemate mo nag positive all of sudden iba tingin sayo ng tao

    or kahit di mo katrabaho

you just happen to work in the same building...

doon mo makikita people are really cruel and selfish

this virus will bring out the worse in people

Di lang airlines ang nasa firing line...

Many companies are ordering leaves without pay...

Others without savings to weather this storm may call it a day.

Flybe's collapse could be 'first of many' airlines - BBC News

Flybe's collapse "will likely be the first of many in 2020," said James Goodall, transport analyst at Redburn.

"We expect that the demand destruction caused by Covid-19 accelerated its demise and we believe further airline bankruptcies should be expected in the coming months."

Airlines could lose $63bn to $113bn in revenue from the slump in passenger traffic globally this year, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said on Thursday. Last month, it had predicted losses of $29bn.

Demand has plummeted, not just from holidaymakers, but from corporate travel as firms restrict business trips for employees and conferences are postponed.

"There will be a significant increase in airline casualties in this scenario," said Michael Duff, managing director at The Airline Analyst.

Many airlines have introduced cost-cutting measures such as asking staff to take unpaid leave and pay cuts as planes are grounded.

Emirates has asked workers to take unpaid leave for up to one month, while Cathay Pacific asked staff to take three weeks of unpaid leave.

oo pag ikaw ang nasa receiving end violation of human rights yan

    ihumane talaga ang forced quarantine

    --

    going forward

if people stay home they'll spend only on essential supplies + internet

patay mga mall, resto, travel&tourism etc

food delivery will get even bigger (it's already big)... sana ung food delivery guy mo wala virus

    online shopping

those whose jobs can be done at home swerte

pero mga kailangan physically there at work may lose their jobs (like waiters, factory, construction workers can't work from home)

we can go on and on...

imagine all the business that will be affected when people modify their behavior (stay home)
