Special treatment? Netizens binatikos ang pagpapabakuna ni Alice Dixson | ABS-CBN News

How is it possible that she gets only the second dose here in the phil? won't that cause an excess dose of Pfizer vaccine in Manila?

For those who plan to retake a Pfizer of Moderna in the USA after taking a Sinovac.

People vaccinated outside the United States

People who were vaccinated outside the United States with an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine and have received all the recommended doses do not need any additional doses. People who received the first dose of an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine that requires two doses do not need to restart the vaccine series in the United States but should receive the second dose as close to the recommended time as possible.

Some people may have received a COVID-19 vaccine that is not currently authorized in the United States. No data are available on the safety or efficacy of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine currently authorized in the United States after receipt of a non-FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine. However, in some circumstances people who received a COVID-19 vaccine not currently authorized in the United States may be offered revaccination with an FDA-authorized vaccine:

COVID-19 vaccines not authorized by FDA but listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO)2
People who have received all recommended doses of a COVID-19 vaccine that has been listed for emergency use by WHO do not need any additional doses with an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine.
People who have not received all the recommended doses of a COVID-19 vaccine listed for emergency use by WHO may be offered a complete FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine series.
COVID-19 vaccines neither authorized by FDA nor listed for emergency use by WHO
People who received all or some of the recommended doses of a COVID-19 vaccine that is neither authorized by FDA nor listed for emergency use by WHO may be offered a complete FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine series.

The minimum interval between the last dose of a non-FDA authorized vaccine or a WHO-listed vaccine and an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine is 28 days. Only people who have received all recommended doses of an FDA-authorized or WHO-listed COVID-19 vaccine are considered fully vaccinated for the purpose of public health guidance

I'm really problematic about how it will be when I go to the US. I'm not sure if I still need to quarantine [emoji24] If I had Pfizer or Moderna baka hindi na kailangan.

Is my understanding correct, 28 days after unauthorized vaccine (eg sinovac) pwede na magpa vaccine other brand?

Wala naman quarantine-quarsnfine sa kanila eh. Basta meron ka negative PCR test. Self-quarantina lang sa bahay ang recommended nila.

Saka wait ka lang palabas na yun WHO list ng sinovac.

Wag OA. That "excess" which is just one can be given to another person.

At least we have one additional fully vaccinated person.

Lahat na lang issue kahit maliit na bagay. Alangan naman hayaan mag lapse yung 2nd dose at masayang. Crab mentality ng mga pinoy.

Heard from my colleague that you can get injected with vaccine even if you walk-in in sm sangandaan they are not strict as compared here is pasay or manila. But the problem is they are using Astra and my colleague backs out due to known issues getting Astra vaccine.

Yeah. Couldn't understand the issue myself. Meron na siyang 1st dose so kelangan nya magpabakuna ng 2nd dose within the specified period. Otherwise sayang lang din yung 1st vaccine sa kanya.

Siguro dapat ginawa niya inantay na lang niya yun second dose niya sa Canada dahil alam naman niya niya mahirap ng supply dito para wala ng masabi. I know that's what I will do.

Thats my point. Why risk going back to phil and forces our vaccinators to give her a 2nd pfizer when she could have waited in the US for her 2nd shot. pfizer recommends 21-28 days interval for the 2nd shot. Buti na lang mayrun na tayo pfizer dito na dumating.
She should have gotten the 2nd shot in the US and gave the full pfizer shot here to someone else.
from a logistical point of view.
all pfizer shots here in the phil have their 2nd dose reserved already, this is due to the fact that our gov't can't guarantee the arrival of the pfizer vaccines.
unless you also have other people who took only the 2nd shot of pfizer or didn't come back for the 2nd shot you will have one vaccinated person with only 1 dose of pfizer such that the recommended time interval for the 2nd shot might lapse before another batch of pfizer will arrive.
Thou there are studies that increasing the time interval of the 2nd dose of pfizer would elicit a better response. its not in the govt protocol to give it past the recommended interval.

That is one half vaccinated person, since kinuha ni Alice dizson yung 2nd dose.
remember you need 2 doses to be fully vaccinated.
Thou 1 dose of Pfizer seems to be better than 2 doses of Sinovac according to some studies.

She asked her followers on social media if we have Pfizer na in the PH. I am curious if she also lined up like the rest of the Manilenos. Yung Pfizer kasi na first batch was first come first serve kaya some lined up madaling araw pa lang. Not sure about the succeeding batches, or baka no need for her to line up since siya ang kauna unahang second dose sa Pilipinas hahaha, kasi kelan lang naman dumating ang Pfizer. If I were her, I would have waited na nga to get the second dose in the US, wala pang issue

BTW I READ A DDS POST saying na ang kakapal daw ng mga mukha ng nagc criticize kay Duterte to get a vaccine. So in the mind of the DDS sila lang pwede ma vaccinate?
