These parts of Asia beat coronavirus early. Why they're suddenly in lockdown

"The sudden reversal in Taiwan’s status mirrors setbacks unfolding across Asia. Nations that were lauded and often envied for the way they controlled COVID-19 — keeping death tolls low and allowing millions to work, attend schools and dine out — are now beset by new lockdowns, dwindling hospital beds and growing fatigue as the pandemic wears on."

Eric Clapton calls COVID-19 vaccine experience '''disastrous''' - Los Angeles Times

The COVID-19 vaccines’ second dose can pack a heavy punch. But while most people experience flu-like symptoms and complain of a sore arm, musician and anti-lockdown activist Eric Clapton says his side effects included frozen limbs.

Clapton wrote a note recently to Italian architect Robin Monotti Graziadei, who has shared numerous anti-lockdown posts on social media, where he called his experience receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine “disastrous.” The former Cream guitarist said he got the vaccine in February, two months after he and Van Morrison released “Stand and Deliver,” a song protesting lockdown measures in the United Kingdom.

“I took the first jab of AZ and straight away had severe reactions which lasted ten days, I recovered eventually and was told it would be twelve weeks before the second one…,” Clapton wrote.

“About six weeks later I was offered and took the second AZ shot, but with a little more knowledge of the dangers,” he continued. “Needless to say the reactions were disastrous, my hands and feet were either frozen, numb or burning, and pretty much useless for two weeks, I feared I would never play again, (I suffer with peripheral neuropathy and should never have gone near the needle.) But the propaganda said the vaccine was safe for everyone....”

The side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine — which has not been approved yet for use in the U.S. — are described by the U.K. government as “mild to moderate in nature” and are expected to go away after a few days. The least common side effects include “abdominal pain, dizziness, loss in appetite, enlarged lymph nodes and excessive sweating, itchy skin or rash.” The government advises anyone who experiences novel side effects to talk to their doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
    Sounds like an overreaction lol

Yes too early but should be implemented eventually para lumiit na mundo ng mga anti vaxxers

Ngayon pa lang dapat pag aralan na paano ipasok sa staysafe app yun records ng mga vaccinated since andyan na infra ng staysafe app gamitin na rin as vaccine pass.

Ano yang Stay Safe app? Yung app na mag log in ka before entering an establishment? Parang I used it once eh hassle kasi kailangan ko ng internet connecttion.

Sa LGU namin, isang tao, isang QR code. Yung establishment lang ang kailangan may internet connection.

The same system is being used sa pagpapalista sa bakuna.

maybe when the vaccine is already easily and freely available to the average person.
but not when we are still scrambling for it... kawawa naman yung khulelhat nang hindi naman niya kasalanan at khulelhat siya.

and let us remember that in order for us to achieve herd immunity, "everyone must do her or his part".
we do not achieve herd immunity if we leave the cooperation to others and not to ourselves.

Maraming students and children na infected sa Singapore and Taiwan....

37 students in Taiwan reported with COVID on Tuesday | Taiwan News | 221-5-18 18:12:

At a press conference, Health Minister and CECC head Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) announced that as of Monday (May 17), 37 students across Taiwan had been diagnosed with COVID-19. They included 16 university students, four high school students, six junior high school students, seven elementary school students, and four kindergarteners.

This marks the largest number of school infections announced in one day since the start of the pandemic. On Monday, concerns about the potential for infection among students led Taipei and New Taipei to announce that all public and private schools, from kindergarten through high school, as well as cram schools and after-school centers, would be closed from May 18 to 28.

Pero mababa naman ata incidence ng covid sa place ng mom mo. If i recall sa province sila nakatira di ba?

Sa samar and leyte 0 incidence ang cities and towns nila as of the last several months. Aside from strict sila sa implementation ng protocols and social distancing, madali ma-monitor ang visitors at umuuwi kasi kokonti lang ang access roads papasok sa kanila.

In fact, ang kwento sa akin iyong last cases nila nag-coincide sa balik probinsya program ni sen bong go. So from there pa lang kita na agad ang source ng infection and na-address nila agad.

Anong province mom mo? I was asking the LGU here in our city kung may darating na Pfizer, hindi daw nila kaya i-store ang Pfizer dito.
