Have not tried it on long steep roads pero I often go to and from basement parking logs (RCBC Plaza) with 7+ pax and it does not even go to 2000 RPM using 'D'. I still have a 1996 accord and the fortuner feels more responsive and more powerful. I think historically on paper Toyota has always been inferior in terms of HP pero in reality they're competetive naman. The tagtag issue is real specially in contrast to the accord but is really just overrated. I deflated to 28 psi and its okay na. I also rode a Civic FD and a City and I cant tell the diff with the Fortuner.

Forget about the new model. I asked my SA after I got my Fort and wala pa din talaga daw. 2013 pa daw. I don't think he still has a motive for lying since I got a unit from him already. Unless of course he thinks I would refer other Fort buyers.
The best for me with the Fort is it looks, period. That was and still is the clincher despite all the bashing here in tsikot. (Madami din Hyundai/Mistu boys dito. hehe) I guess mas macho pa din siya kaysa sa ibang SUV/AUV/CUV kasi di siya masyadong curvy like mga car-looking SUVs. Yung iba kasi parang sobrang radical ang design that you admire for a week pero after that parang deadma ka na.

This is just my opinion and experience with the Fort.
Sir mukhang he lies hehehe daming ng bago Fortuner sa daan... ako din nanghinayang hehehe

hindi naman nakakapanghinayang kasi mas macho pa ang dating ng dating fort, at saka hindi naman nila binago yung makina, so, para sa akin, the best pa rin yung dati, i'm planning to trade in my unit, pero nung makita ko yung bago, i keep my old unit, baka mas matibay pa sya sa bagong labas, i always used my unti with long travel, most esp. nlex and sctex and i have nothing to say regarding of fuel consumption, it takes 11-13 km/ltrs. depende sa accelaration, 1 time din na nasubukan kong isagad sya, it takes 160 km/hr. pero nahuli ako sa sctex, 100 km/hr. lang ang allowed but you can run up to 120 km/hr., sa macapagal ave and commonwealth aver, its better to take 3rd gear only if you have manual variant, otherwise mag-over-speeding ka,

^I get best results with Petron Blaze 100. Instant response when flooring the gas pedal. Very costly though.

dati ganyan din ako, dsl. nga lang... but one time nagbuga sya ng maputing usok when I started up...so, nag-worried ako na baka magsimula na ng malfunction...nag-shift ako ng v-power dsl., nawala yung usok, until now...I try also yung turbo dsl., and it's right iba yung hatak nya... costly nga lang, that's why i go back to v-power.
