As expensive as Swiss watches like Certina. Grand Seiko has beautiful ones too in that price range.

Certina, like some of the Swatch Group offerings (Tissot, Hamilton, Mido), are more on the affordable side of Swiss watches. Grand Seiko models are priced much higher, more like Tudor models.

Fashion quartz watches like Michael Kors or Fossil or Daniel Wellington don’t even make the list. The list is primarily for mechanical watches or those with established history.

It is true that Japanese automatics are on the low end of pricing against Swiss counterparts but they have a lot more followers. Watch collectors have them. They are as good and reliable as Swiss watches.

Some models of the brands within the entry and basic luxury watches are about even in pricing on the market. The list even has a few more additions and some of these brands (like Glycine) have a solid history. Steinhart, Squale, Damasko, and a few other Swiss watch makers are challenging the entry level brands in market share. Timex should not even be at par with Seiko or Orient as most of their offerings are quartz models.

Swatch is a wonder of sorts. It is the biggest watch group and owns a lot of brands. Aside from the mother company (Swatch), it owns these brands - Breguet, Harry Winston, Blancpain, Glashütte Original, Jaquet Droz, Léon Hatot, Omega, Longines, Rado, Union Glashütte, Tissot, ck watch, Balmain, Certina, Mido, Hamilton, Flik Flak.

The other big group is the Richemont Group (A. Lange & Söhne, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels).

Seiko also owns Grand Seiko, Credor, Pulsar, Lorus, Alba, and Orient.
