I received a flash message late last night informing me that Globe is turning on VoLTE and VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) starting today (May 14, 2020).
Globe Launches Better Voice Call Experience with VoLTE & VoWiFi - Globe Newsroom
VoLTE is working on mine. Haven't tried VoWiFi.
Though, you need to turn them on...

Maybe not yet.
My 3-year-old Samsung S8+ supports both VoLTE and VoWiFi. However, only the former is enabled by the telco for this phone model during the initial implementation. I tried calling a mobile number while in Airplane Mode with just WiFi turned on... didn't work.
But with VoLTE, I was able to make a test mobile call to my wife's phone and while in the call, I was able to browse the internet using LTE voice and data simultaneously (WiFi turned off). Cool!
But I think VoLTE, even though it makes for a great positive impact on user experience, is just going to be a stop gap until 5G becomes mainstream. On the other hand, VoWiFi will remain to serve customers with bad cell reception without the need to use products like Globe's Airboost (I was able to avail of this which I loaned to my brother).

May 15th, 2020 01:25 PM #498It should work with iPhones. I don't think the carrier is restricting access via each individual phone SKU, your phone just needs to have the feature.
iPhone 6 and up supports VoLTE Make phone calls with Voice over LTE (VoLTE) - Apple Support
iPhone 5c and up supports WiFi Calling Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling - Apple Support
Edit: I just read the Globe VoLTE page. They said it's only available to select postpaid accounts. My guess they chose certain accounts to enable it on depending on the device bought with the postpaid plan (hence the device list). Would be interesting to know if it will work on any VoLTE device if your SIM has been selected for the feature.Last edited by Dr.Kamiya; May 15th, 2020 at 02:08 PM.

Hybrid is the way to go. So you don't rely heavily on the batteries.
