Which is better in terms of mobile internet reliability/speed, wider coverage on data and calls as well as better plans? I just upgraded my Globe and the new plan will kick-in in a few days so I'll be able to try their mobile data soon. Good thing is wala siyang lock-in period so I can cancel if I'm not satisfied. I just wanted a comparison kasi baka mabagalan/mapangitan ako sa net ng Globe pero yun pala ganun lang talaga siya or ganun lang din pala ang Smart.

It will really depend on the place where they have a better coverage. Like here in davao, there are area that smart and globe is good, but some are has smart only. then when you travel, there are are that only globe is available.

Thay maybe why we have dual sim technology.

Agree above na may places malakas ang data ng globe. May places malakas ang smart. Pero sa call and text, mas malakas ang smart

I've been with Smart pre-paid for almost 15yers now (same pre-paid SIM).
Smart has been kind to me. Maybe because in our area, their signal is good.
And recently, we got a Smart Bro post-paid. Connection is sometimes okay, sometimes not good. It depends on the location. But one thing I like is they do not charge me an extra centavo even if I double my supposedly data cap which I assume as 2GB per month. I usually consume 4GB.

I once consumed 8GB and that is when they charged me an additional Pho150 hehehe

I also have a Globe pre-paid mostly for text messages so I cannot comment on its data connection.

Depende sa lugar and check mo yung experience talaga hindi yung speedtest or signal coverage. Kaya maganda register ka 1 week unli data ng smart globe sun then evaluate mo saan ka mas natuwa. [emoji1]

data and call coverage mas marami ang Smart pero sa internet depende sa place.

    SMART
    Smart coverage maps - OpenSignal

    GLOBE
    Globe coverage maps - OpenSignal

    Generaly speaking ha.

Nationwide coverage lamang ang Smart. Kaya kung call and text priority mo, get a Smart plan.

Pero kung mahiligi ka mag-mobile data, mas okay ang Globe sa areas na pareho may signal Globe at Smart.

Kaya alamin mo muna if yung palagi mo pinupuntahan na area ay may smart or globe signal before you decide.

Best pa din, get a dual sim phone or carry 2 phones para sure ka.

data and internet reliability..... i guess it would depend on your location.
i have used both.... both has its pros and cons based on location.

napansin ko lang : ayala malls (syempre Globe is an Ayala company), mas maganda ang internet speed ng Globe.... Also most of the areas here in Makati and in BGC and several metropolitan areas like Central Cebu.

however, pag dating sa mga remote places, Smart. Have tried using 3G in Masinloc, Zambales.

however, a friend of mine in BF Paranaque says he cannot even get a 3G signal in his place near Lopez.

Just switched to Globe last month. Can't stand Smart's unstable connection in my area.

Nakakatawa yung ads ng Globe sa FB. Pag binasa mo mga comments pulos bashing, reklamo at pang-aasar ang posts.

My first GSM phone was Globe Postpaid. 1990s pa at Nokia 1610 ang phone. But the signal was so bad in the Triangles/QMCircle/Diliman QC area where I lived and worked that I had returned it a year later and switched to Smart prepaid. Never looked back.

I grew up with PLDT landlines because they were still a monopoly, and they sucked. Finally had them disconnected in the 2000s and shifted to Bayantel landline and DSL. It was OK for a while until Globe bought it. No bill for months, then they accused us of not paying and threatened to cut us off. I said go ahead, disconnect me. They probably realized they made a mistake, and asked if we would like to upgrade our plan instead. My wife told them to go to hell.

We moved to another subdivision in QC two years ago. All cell systems had spotty signal inside our houses, so it was common for people to go out to the street to have voice calls. But coverage has improved since then. We got PLDT landline and DSL because Globe and Converge wasn't available in my street yet. I was VERY lucky that installation arrived less than a week after application, and that service was quite stable. We shifted to Fibr when it became available in our street. Again we've been VERY lucky that installation came less than a week after application, and speed averages the promised 20mbps.

Thanks I've been with Globe ever since but haven't tried their mobile data. Didnt need it din kasi since sa work ko before, we had to leave our phone sa locker and sa bahay nakawifi. But ever since I've resigned and madalas nasa labas, I need data na. Halos di naman ako pumupunta sa mga remote places so I guess I'll stick with Globe...give it about a month or two and if I dont like the coverage/data siguro that's when I'll try Smart. Thanks guys.
