GH, ano pa ibang netbooks ng Sony? Do you know any sites na may pictures and prices like PCX.com.ph before? Cos right now PCX's site is messed up, beta blah blah yata. Ty
I'm planning to get a new laptop kasi. I want lighter sana kaso I need to use Photoshop and Illustrator hehe
If you want to check out prices and specs, you can try out PC Corner's website:

Then choose Sony as the manufacturer of choice then SEARCH.

If you want a Sony netbook:
If you want high performance in a thin, sleek looking package, then look no further than the new Sony VAIO TT notebook. Weighing in at only 1.3 kg, and with an 11.1” screen, the TT is designed with mobile users in mind.
Powered by a Centrino processor and with Blu-ray and SSD options available, the TT is great, but not intended for someone with a small wallet, as the Blu-ray model starts at the not-so-cheap price of $2700.

2700! Malamang pagdating dito nyan or if meron man overpriced na. I'm getting a Canon 50d din kasi 50k is fine for a laptop but that TT looks nice since my laptop right now is 11", good enough for designing. Thanks! PC Corner nga pala yun, nakalimutan ko na kasi haha

thanks again.
A few issues:
-memory limited to 1gb (not upgradable)
-graphics chip is intel 950 (meaning its not any faster than other brands like MSi, Lenovo, Acer, etc)
-only 2 usb ports (others have three)
-short battery life (rated at 2.5 hours, real life would get less than 2 hours)
Plus side:
-wifi N
-SD card slot + Memory stick slot
-bluetooth
Personally, this is nothing to crow about. In fact, you'll be back with the same problem as you had with your DELL if you get this netbook.
Why not just get the LENOVO S10-2 ?? It would have the same specs but it's upgradable to 2gb memory. Plus you get a six cell battery giving you at least 4 or more (real world) hours of battery time.

Regarding Photoshop, I have run PS CS2 on my netbook. It's a little slow to load but runs well enough to do quick edit on good sized images. I haven't tried editing large sized images that I do on my desktop unit but I am sure the performance would be as expected.
I haven't tried Adobe Illustrator on my netbook.
Why not try looking at ASUS N10 ? Originally priced at around US$700 early this year, I have seen the price go down at some of the local retailers (in Manila).
What makes this netbook different from the rest is the two graphics chips: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 AND Nvidia 9300m GS 256MB DDR2 ... meaning you can play games on the faster chip or save battery by using the Intel 950 chipset. Switching between chipsets require a reboot though.
The rest of the specs are typical:
* Screen: 10.2” WSVGA (1024 x 600) Glossy LED, w/Ambient Light Sensor
* Processor: Intel Atom N270 processor at 1.66Ghz
* Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
* Nvidia 9300m GS 256MB DDR2
* Memory: 1GB DDR2 PC-5300 667
* Hard Disc: 160GB 5400 rpm w/Freefall Sensor (Seagate)
* Wireless: Atheros AR92X Wireless Network Adapter (A/B/G/N), Bluetooth V2.0 + EDR
* Optical Drive: N/A
* Ports and Slots: 3 USB 2.0, HDMI,VGA monitor out, headphone jack, microphone input, 8-in-1 SD card reader (SDHC compatible), Kensington Lock slot, Ethernet 10/100, ExpressCard/34, Microphone-in, and Line-out/ S/PDIF
* Operating System: Windows XP Home SP3 + Express Gate.
* Features: Built in 1.3Mp Camera/Microphone/Fingerprint reader
* Battery: 11.1v 4800mAh 53Wh 6 Cell Lithium
* Dimensions: 27.6 cm (W) x 19.5 cm (D) x 2.99-3.71 cm (H)
* Weight: 1.40 kg with 3-cell battery
* Warranty: 2-Year Limited Global Warranty
Another plus is the looks:

The problem is, I dont know/forgot which key to press to access BIOS upon boot. The screen flashes too damn quickly
Unless there's a different way of accessing it on laptops...
*** EDIT ***
Finally was able to access the BIOS Menu, but unfortunately, I can't toggle the 8mb value for video memory. I read over the Acer Aspire One forums that this is typically limited to Windows XP, as those AAO users running on Vista can allocate up to 700mb of memory for video... SUCKS!

Before an Acer Aspire One with no HD. Gave it away to my sister after a month.
Now a Lenovo S10 Ideapad. Chose it over the MSI, Acer, Asus, etc. Rock solid. Not flimsy or trivial in build.
I would not use a Netbook for heavy duty work. Just simple office (word, excel, powerpoint, visio, project) and browsing. So I keep two portables, an S10 and a Y430 from Lenovo.
Of course Freemind, Firefox and a Netbook makes a very useful portable PC.
I wouldn't even use MS Office on the thing. My use for one would be internet/email and viewing entertainment content (DVD, YT, web, etc). Hence, I hadn't really needed one yet. Of course, that's just me. Others see it differently.
We'll visit the Philippines next year. Only then will I need a netbook to complement the laptop. With my eyesight not as good as it used to be, doing any serious work on a netbook is going to be hard, even on a 10" screen.
good day sir gh....remember my dell netbook?the buyer returned my unit claiming that it is infected with the virus! he found this out when he inserted a flash disk and tried to view hidden files. the folder option "show hidden files and folders" is not working. also, i found out that the "update now" option in the mcaffee anti virus is not highlighted. i tried to uninstall and re-install the anti-virus but same thing happened. i even tried avg (free) but it did not made any updates! is my netbook infected? good thing i did not buy the sony netbook because of your review otherwise i will have 2 netbooks! thanks again sir GH!
