nyayyy... dein ako nakakapunta pa dun(never)... parang nakakatakot... lol may warranty mga camera dun? kelangan pala tyagain ano?
i bought a nikon d40 last January and pinagamit ko sa photog namin. now I sold my canon 350d/rebel xt for 30k and bought another nikon d40 for 27k. tubo pa ako hehehe.
at 54k may 2 dlsr's na kami panggamit sa biz. kaysa bumili ng canon 400d na tig 48k. labo ng cleaning mechanism ng 400d, pagpag lang pwede ba yun?
three reasons I bought Nikon d40: 2.5" LCD Screen, CCD Sensor & SD or MiniSD (with adaptor) Card compatible (up to 4GB). puwede ko view sa nokia cellphone yun mga pics.
I picked up a nice souvenir when I in Manila last month...a 4GB Sandisk Extreme IV CF card!
I checked out the camera stores in Quiapo as well. Almost picked up a used nice used Minolta 85mm f1.4 lens at one of the stores too. They wanted 12K. I should have picked it up, they're going for over $400. Sayang.
The D40 is a great cam for its price and great for newbies and hobbyists, but you can't really use just that if you're an event shooter all the time, though... Get a D80 as the main workhorse hehe.
D40's high ISO kicks butt though (vs other models)...
Agree. Event shooter - D80 or 30D minimum but a 400D could suffice. Everday ethusiast who just shoots for casual pleasure, D40 would be more than enough...for the meantime, he he.
Nikon d40...
at 27K pwedeng pwede na...ka price range lang niya ang flagship ng IXUS at Powershot he..he
i am leaning towards the nikon d40(parang it keeps popping up in suggestions).. i guess that enough for a begginer like me? i usually o like landscape shots (well try to with my digicam. sayang wala pa akong digicam when i went to the grand canyons ganda sana mga shots) we just used a normal pentax optio a10... i actually like hte pictures taken on my sony t3 than the pentax...
Honestly, with landscape, even a P&S would do a great job... In "most" cases DSLRs shows significant strengths only in low-light event photography and sports photography... Note I said "significant"... In good lighting, non-moving, still life photos, you'd be hard pressed to see the difference on screen or small prints between an expensive cam and a P&S (especially with newer P&S that sports image stabilization, fast lenses and better ISO noise control).
Oh add ko lang...
The crop factor of most cams makes landscape photos harder to shoot at a wide angle. With DSLRs, you'd have to go below 18mm to get good coverage (extra spending again!), as opposed to many P&S, the lenses are usually wide enough despite the crop factor.
Although you can always stitch to create a wider photo :D
OT:
I know of other place that pic depicts, other than the Grand Canyon in Arizona! Nice place to hike also! Forgot the name of the trail where the photo was taken. I can only imagine it must be so frigid cold down there when the sun sets. When night time falls, at the peak, you can hear the wind's howling and gushing through every single crevices down in the valley.
One tip when you're into landscape, buy an adaptor or something so that you can use a polarizing or neutral density filter... Makes a BIG diff in landscape scenes.
hows the nikon d80? is it better than the d40? adn about the lenses... yun bang mga camera na to like compatible with other brand lens? mukhagn kelangan ko nga mag take ng classes... hehehe
Gerard: Yes, the D80 is leaps better than the D40 in terms of specs, features and capabilities, but like what we've mentioned in the first couple of pages, until you understand the basics, those differences may be a bit trivial, with most DSLRs (or even film SLRs), you get to maximize the features of the cam when you shoot in manual or have a firm grasp on metering and all (I'm not saying you don't dude, I'm just illustrating the fact).
The D40 is a gap-product between fixed-lens prosumer cam and mid-tier DSLRs...
Love the size of the D40, though... It's not as bulky.
If the user will be on full AUTO or P mode most of the time, the difference between a 30K cam and a 150K cam won't be that much in terms of pic quality...
Regarding compatibility, no, only lenses from the same mount (Canon and Nikon have older mounts that are incompatible with more current mounts) will fit. There are third party lenses available such as Sigma, Tamron, Quantary, etc. that manufactures lenses for specific mounts as well.
But you can use current lenses from one body to another provided that they're the same brand.
I do think that the D40 can't mount certain Nikkor lenses, sorry, not familiar with Nikon mounts.
With Canons, the newer (for digital) EF-S lenses will not fit film, older DLSRs like my 10D, and full frame models like the 1Ds and 5D...
