guys what's the best "bang for the buck" Digital SLR Camera...
Been doing some reading on this. You may want to consider the Canon EOS 30D or the Nikon D200. The review is published in the latest issue of HWM.
I saw a Nikon D50 at makati it was selling for 50K+ and a Nikon d70 for 90K+.
definitely mas mura kung sa mga camera shop sa Raon(?)
Well, amongst the ones (entry level) I've tested and/or extensively read about, the top three goes to (in no particular ranking):
1. Fujifilm Finepix S9500
2. Nikon D70
3. Canon EOS 350D
4. Olympus E-VOLT 330 (pangit nga lang hitsura, IMO)
Oks din ang review sa Pentax *ist-DL2
Sa semi-pro:
1. Nikon D70
2. Canon EOS 300D or the 30D.
3. Olympus E-VOLT 500
4. Sigma SD-9
Sa pro series (in no particular ranking):
1. Canon EOS 1Ds-Mark II
2. Nikon D200 or the D2X

*artpogi: sa Hidalgo bossing, hindi sa raon.mas mura dun talaga. mas mura din dun an photo accessories e.g. filers, lens hoods/shades, flash units, lenses, tri-pods, dry box, etc.
don't know but before you buy see first at ebay.ph. i just bought a canon a700 there for 17k, mall price is 25k. hanapin mo yung seller na alyxravilob (bolivar), madali kausap, he'll sell items at below the reserve price if you pay cash. complete with receipt and intl warranty card din. meron siya sony and canon digital slr cameras (10.1 mega pixells, carl zeis lens), see mo na lang sa ebay auctiva store nya. pwede din yata mag-order.

and you can't go wrong by getting at least one decent bright zoom lens.
thanks guys another Q,
what are the hidden cost of this hobby?
accessories, mem cards, printing?
Well, you have to spend some on necessary accessories like a U/V filter and a polarizing filter. A lens hood will also be good. If you want to do a lot of flash photography, a flash unit is necessary. If you plan use slow shutter speeds and a fairly large aperture for a lot of your shoots then you would need to invest on a tripod. The base mem card should be at 512MB although I'd recommend you get 1G - plus another spare. Extra batteries would also be good since you'd never know when your batts would conk out. Somewhere along the line, the lens that come with the kit won't be enough for you so you would need to invest in a couple of lenses e.g. macro, wide-angle, telephoto. The printing costs of digipics are fairly cheap. However, if you plan to do the printing yourself, you need to invest in a real good printer.
With the 350D or D50/D70, you can do an entire event's/occassion's shooting without running out of batteries. But getting an extra pack is always a good idea.
One note... if you do go the semi-pro route (350D / D70/50), this is an alluring and expensive hobby. Those base kits for under 60k pesos come with a crappy kit lens that, while good enough for amateurs, will have you yearning for more powah in no time.
At least the D50 and D70 can accept cheaper Sigma lenses. Not sure about the Canons. It's worth your time to research with the pipho's (pinoyphotography) as they have lots of tips on how to start up... and you can often buy an older starter unit from another member who's moving up to the big leagues.
But don't let the "starter" camera tag fool you. A lot of these cameras are as good as you'll ever need, and are almost as flexible as the top-of-the-line ones. It's not uncommon to see a pro toting a D70 as a backup camera just in case his quarter-million-peso unit conks out.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
i was choosing before on the c350D and the nD50 as a "starter" dlsr .. they're the most inexpensive of the canon and nikon lines and both have very good reviews .. the nD50 has a more solid feel .. but i got the c350D because it is smaller so my wife can use it also, and 8mb na rin siya while the nD50 is 6mp lang .. the major cost after purchase of any of the units would be the lens since the kit lens provided by any of the models is medyo "crappy" nga .. yun nga lang .. yung mga gusto kong lenses cost more than the camera itself .. hehe ..
Hi Kim!
I use a Sony Cybershot DSC-R1 with the fixed Carl Zeiss lens. Performance is excellent and at par (if not better) than a pro kit.

if youre on a tight budget, go for Nikon D50. its got most of the features you'll need for everyday shooting. although it comes with a crappy packaged lens, i suggest to upgrade it to the 18-200mm VR lens. this lens is quite expensive but you wont regret having one. :D
hmmm sony...pwede rin maraming akong mem stick dito...
sir dindo magkano naman ang sony DSC-R1?
