..i'm currently a 3rd year UP student taking up Business administration and Accountancy... na-aliw lng ako sa mga posts sa thread na 'to kaya ngregister na rin ako..
i'm just so amazed on how u guys think.. but actually, given this young age of mine, I'VE BEEN THERE... dati, i really used to think that God doesn't exist. i'm close to becoming an atheist.. npaka-critical ko talaga towards things unseen. but then, i was convinced to join this 3-day camp they call WEEKEND ENCOUNTER. I tell you, it is not your ordinary camp. Dito mo mkikita na really, there's more to this life. there's more to just drinking beers with friends and girlfriend and even smoking at age young as around 12yrs old..

Before, i used to think i had the best life... i thought that was the BEST life... great academics, lovelife, social life and ALL. But the moment i encountered God last August 1,2 and 3 2008, it radically changed my whole life... Everyone's capable of changing..

Curious and interested for more? email me * stephen_paduano*yahoo.com..
i'd love getting to know new friends..

It's our faith in a living and almighty God that gives eternal meaning to emphemeral life here on earth. It clarifies our purpose and destiny. I've learned that it's by knowing God that I can really know myself because He created me and knows me even before I was born. He gives peace and joy when things don't go your way.

Without Him, I was just a wicked and exploited child of Devil (John:44). Before, I was a self-deceived, self-righteous, self-centered person which most naturally think that everything is all about me. I thought then that I was living a "life" when in truth I was a dead man walking, a spiritual zombie seeking carnal pleasures.

On the other hand, the way to heaven, must be travelled on this sometimes rough and sometimes smooth road we call life. But I know that my navigator, mechanic, manufacturer rides with me all the way. I do take short-cuts against His advice once in awhile and suffer. There are many times, that I do crazy things because I think as an "experienced" driver I don't need Him telling me what to do. How I wish I can say now that I know better but can't. In a day there are many opportunities to take the easy road and just do what everyone is doing since they all seem to be doing just fine many times I do. But in my spritual dashboard Matthew 7:13-14 flashes:

13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it".

Each and everyone of us has a moral law written inside our hearts so I guess kung di man naniwala ang isang tao naturally mabuti ang isang tao. Choice na lang nya kung gusto nyang maging masama.

    Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

    But Hebrews 10 says:

15The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:
16"This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds." 17Then he adds:
    "Their sins and lawless acts
    I will remember no more."

Yes, laws are written in the hearts of men but not in all men. Only those who experienced spiritual rebirth will have the heart where such moral laws are intrinsic.

OT ito pero these are just one of the reasons why I personally believe that there is a God, a living One, whose perfection & wisdom can only be comprehended by man thru His grace. Share ko lang po:

    CENTER OF THE BIBLE

What is the shortest chapter in the Bible?
    (Answer - Psalm 117)

What is the longest chapter in the Bible?
    (Answer - Psalm 119)

Which chapter is in the center of the Bible
    (Answer - Psalm 118)

Fact: There are 594 chapters before Psalm 118

Fact: There are 594 chapters after Psalm 118

Add these numbers up and you get 1188

What is the center verse in the Bible?
    (Answer - Psalm 118:8)

Psalms 118:8 (NKJV) "It is better to trust in
the LORD than to put confidence in man."

sorry kiper, but I have to answer back your queries. peace!

do you really practice what your god tells you? do you follow your church's teachings?
if you are a true Christian you don't live by what the "church's teachings" are. that is middle age christianity. that is why we have our own intellect and common sense, but this is in tandem with prayers to consult with Him. good deeds comes out naturally don't you believe?

dati bata pa ko sa loob ng simbahan..may tumabi saming mayamang babae, mejo may edad na....
it is really hard to judge people based on a few actions. you'll really never know what is inside the heart of that person...

heaven is just the continuation of this life. as a Christian, heaven isn't a reward about my good deeds but rather a place to fully experience the love of God with us.

salvation cannot be bought by good deeds alone. remember the story about the criminal who was crucified besides Jesus? he lived a crooked life, but right then and there he acknowledged Jesus as his Saviour. that was all that it took for him to be able to be saved.

personally, i was able to experience God's presence and touch a few years ago. we were in this retreat in Baguio, so I just went there as part of me being a good boy and all. in one of our sessions, we were praying and singing. and all around us, people were just fainting and speaking in tongues. am kinda shocked at first, i thought that they were just faking it or that the pastors were pushing them or something. these were the people near the stage / altar.

I was way back but then I decided to pray really hard, asking God for forgiveness and humility. God must have spoken to one of the pastors because from way in front, I saw him go to where I was and prayed with me. the moment that he did that, i suddenly collapsed / fainted but was still conscious! it was like falling on cloud as I didn't even feel any pain. and I suddenly started to speak in tongues! I just really can't describe what I felt back then but I felt very peaceful and it was like God hugging me right then and there. afterwards, I was able to speak in tongues consciously for a time. whatever I was praying about in my head, it came out of my mouth in a different language.

although for some time now, I've been too busy with work and studies and kinda backtracked in my faith but thanks to this topic as it kinda jolted me of what I have been putting on hold! that event is a constant reminder for me that God is real and that He does love us.

Who should we fear more? The wrath of society rather than the wrath of God as a consequence of one's action...?

    Catch-22 - Wikiquote

And don't tell me God works in mysterious ways," Yossarian continued. … "There's nothing mysterious about it, He's not working at all. He's playing. Or else He's forgotten all about us. That's the kind of God you people talk about, a country bumpkin, a clumsy, bungling, brainless, conceited, uncouth hayseed. Good God, how much reverence can you have for a Supreme Being who finds it necessary to include such phenomena as phlegm and tooth decay in His divine system of Creation? What in the world was running through that warped, evil, scatological mind of His when He robbed old people of the power to control their bowel movements? Why in the world did He ever create pain?

The world would be a better place with out religion. Religion just makes a lot of things complicated. Im not saying it's bad, im just saying it has done more harm than good.

Its your Free Will to believe or not.

I have closed my chapter on this since i have chosen my path and found reality, how about you? are you still wondering or has a big question mark? well do not bother since you will never find out the answers you are looking for until your death comes.

But if indeed you have chosen to believe in him, and your faith and way of life is genuine, God will send you an evidence, a personal evidence.

    Dear kanamu,

Religion is like a Penis. It's fine to have one and it's fine to be proud of it, but please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around... and PLEASE don't try to shove it down my child's throat.

Sincerely, tired of hearing your religious Guff
