God gave us free will and he wanted us to be happy by using that god-given free will. He don't treat us like robot by forcing to us his commandments. But at the end of the day, we should be ready to face the repercussions of our decisions.

I'm a non-practicing Catholic. I believe in the Creator we call God, no doubt about that, but I think with or without your belief, one can live a Christian-like life. I've seen that all around us. Buti pa nga mga non-believer eh kasi if they do something wrong eh accepted natin because of that, but it's a different story if it happens to a believer.

OT:

One thing that really bugs me is that in the Bible, there's no mention about Dinosaurs and yet there are so many proofs that they once ruled the earth more than million years ago, so it's really conflicting on what is written in the Bible.

Personally, w/o my faith in God, my life would be in disarray. No moral compass, no ideals, no principles. I try to live according to the topmost law that Jesus pointed out when the Pharisees tried to trick him when they asked "What is the most important law?" He said, "Love God above all & love your neighbor as yourself." So if you boil it all down, LOVE is the basic principle that the Bible is based on. Not the sentimental, romantic definition but one that's based on basic human respect and compassion. Coz if I try to follow that kind of love, I realize I become a more caring, understanding, patient person.

I won't debate the pros & cons of one denomination over the other or the soundness of one teaching over the other. Because if I claim to adhere to Christianity, then I should adhere to what Christ said. Nothing more, nothing less. His law of love is so simple, yet it is the toughest one to live by.

kiper, yan ang common misconception about the Catholic church. "Do good to get to heaven." This is not true. To sum it up: "Do good so that others may see Christ living in you. Christ already paid for your ticket to heaven." The sad thing about it is, hindi lahat ng so-called Christians/Catholics ganyan ang ginagawa (tulad ng nakatabi mo sa simbahan). IMO, yung mga taong ganito, parang mga Pharisees na tinitira ni Christ dati. Nagpapakabanal, praying out loud in public places, holier-than-thou attitude, etc. pero deep down inside mas-bulok pa sila kaysa sa iba! Pare, sobrang dami talagang ganyan sa kahit anong simbahan mapuntahan mo (INC, El Shaddai, Roman-Catholic, Protestant).

Nakakalungkot isipin na yung mga taong ganito has caused you to become an atheist (my assumption based on your most recent post). Pero these people are not the true indication of what a true believer in Christ should be like.

dinosaurs are not mentioned in the Bible because the Bible is not a history of the world. in fact, many texts in the Bible are not literally true, including Genesis 1 and 2.

suffice it to say that the Bible is largely a metaphor, and not a textbook...
