Great post man. It's up to the people if you believe or don't believe.

    wow....a sensible question! :D

personally there would be no difference....pwde ka pa rin naman magpakatao kahit hindi ka naniniwala sa Diyos e (or any higher being for that matter<-- para sa mga hindi kristyano).

kung naiintindihan mo kung bakit ka nandito sa mundo at kung paano tunay na makipagkapwa-tao nang walang pananampalataya (kristyano man o muslim o anuman), saludo ako! dahil ito naman ang tunay na mahalaga e (probably one of the common ideologies in every religion)

may underlying question din dito sa tanong ni papa glennster : "What would you do if you found out that there is no God?"

i dont wanna sound that i dont believe in God....medyo connect lang kasi kahit papaano :D

I think the question that matters more is "What Will Be The Difference AFTER Our Lives If We Dont Believe In God?" According to Christian beliefs, no one can come to the Father except through Jesus Christ. Therefore, its not only important for us to believe in (a) God, but another prerequisite is that we must believe that Christ died for our sins.

The difference in our lives (ideally) should be a side-effect of our love/belief in Christ and the Trinitarian God. We should act in a moral/Christian manner not because of religion or because we want to save ourselves (Christ already did this for those who believe in Him), but mainly because we love Him and want to be like Him as much as possible.

Di naman sa tinitira ko ang atheists but a preacher at my church once told me, it really makes no sense to be an atheist. If there is indeed no God, both theists (christians, muslims, etc.) and atheists will have the same fate (i.e. disappear into oblivion), but if there is indeed a God, the believers will go to Heaven and spend their afterlife with their God while the atheists will go elsewhere...

    :D

my 2 cents. ang lawak ng topic na to.

whether i believe to God or not doesn't no affect my human being. I think it is the genes and the invironments that make us behave and think as what we are today. I do believe their's a Creator but i don't know what He wants from us or if he really wants something from us...He created everything in opposite direction....left/right....cold/hot...god/bad...day/night...etc...maybe He only wants us to choose which direction we want to be at bahala na Sya sa huli....

Thats why it requires fatih to believe in God if you read the bible it is very illogical.(di naman lahat)

For instance Adam and Eve were thrown away from the Garden because they disobeyed God's one and only rule. Therefore, bakit lahat ng tao sa mundo na damay because of their disobedience?

    Anong klaseng Diyos yan?

CHosen people nya mga murderers anong klaseng Diyos yan?

Pero to answer your question it makes no difference whether you believe in him or not during our life here on earth. What matter is you need to learn to respect other people and doing good deeds to others. Otherwise, how can you say you believe and love God if you dont even know how to respect others di ba?

Yoko na one things for sure never ending arguments talaga ang POLITICS and RELIGION

I think because of the so many questions posted and so many inquiries on our mind, the more we need to read the Bible.

I believe that God is alive today and loves all of us.

korek ka usokpower, it is very illogical. that's why we have scholars who studies the bible, and they have hundreds of years of learnings and learnings. if you will interpret the bible as you read it, you will definitely be confused.

Mk, kailangan mo matuto ng apologetics (defending the validity of the Bible) para masagot yung prof mo. :D

If taken literally, a lot of points in the Bible would seem illogical nga naman. But the Bible (especially the Old Testament) contains a lot of figurative language. It is up to us to study it to understand it more. gaya ng sabi ni Preytoryan, dami dyan Biblical scholars who spent most if not all of their lives studying the Bible (and these people write books too!). These are the resources that one needs to tap if he/she wants to understand the Bible more.

On the other hand, there are texts in the Bible that won't make you able to deny that there is a God. May iba pa bang belief system (i didn't wanna use the word religion) that tells of a story like this one?

I agree. There's nothing to loose if one believes in God.

if everyone doesn't believe in God then there would be no difference... coz there will always be religion, which may believe in different things (atheist is a religion), so we will be governed by that existing religion, therefore our concepts of what is moral n ethical will be guided by that religion. It may not be the same as what we believe to be moral n ethical now but in that context it will be followed.

So there will be no problem, less conflict pa nga, no friction between believers n non-believers.

pure_blue, the answer is yes, coz religion alone doesn't dictate what morality is, but it's the society, the summation of different individuals n religions.

    gawd....

    I LOVE YOU GUYS...

I NO LONGER BELIEVE IN ETERNAL LIFE; IT SEEMS TO ME THERE IS NOTHING BEYOND THIS MORTAL LIFE. EVERYTHING IS BROUGHT TO AN END. LOVE ALONE REMAINS."

ANAKNAMFOOTA..basahin niyo ung last sentence niya....

LOVE ALONE REMAINS!!!****...inspite of her disbelief...LOVE parin ang nangibabaw sa kaniya.

then why not be BELIEVERS?SINCE MAY MAS POSSIBILITY KAYO NA MAPUNTA SA HEAVEN kaysa being a non-believer na for sure walang possibility?

diba mas maganda MAGTAYA SA BELIEF, OUR FAITH, kasi nga it's either "go to heaven" or "not go to heaven" kaysa sa non beliver na "nbot go to heaven" lang ang mangyayari?

This is the direct answer from the Bible:

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." - Ecclesiastes 12:13

Base on that, the purpose of life is to worship God by following his commandments. Therefore, more than believing, you need to have deep respect and devotion to God in order to follow him. That what will make the real difference.

"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." - James 2:17

So don't be surprised if there are people saying they believe in God but contradicted by their action.

So to answer your question, if you have true faith in God your life will be meaningful. Without believing in God, you can be rich and gain relative happiness just like the rich man in Jesus' parable in Luke 12: 16 - 21:

He spoke a parable to them, saying, "The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’ He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. I will tell my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, be merry."‘ "But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

But you'll not receive God's favor and blessing of everlasting life on paradise earth promised by Him where there'll no more death, sickness, war and all sorts of problem.

What if religion were not to be "taught" in school? And only when a child is able to percieve right and wrong, will they be allowed by choice to choose his/her path, whether with or without religion...
