siguro the pandemic accelerated PH Shell's plan to shut down the refinery
this pandemic is very good at accelerating things
ung mga plans na dapat implement in 5 years or more napilitan implement now

Dati 3 refinery kasama pa Caltex.
Naging pride ng mga Pinoy ang mga refineries maski contractor lang as reference para matanggap sa Aramco, PDO, ADNOC, etc. sa middle east at africa.

agree the pandemic hasten the demise of shell tabangao refinery.
but this is happening in every 4 corners of the world! actually, more are operating at under capacity.
ewan ko kung gaano kababa ang capacity para sa jet fuel ngayon dahil wala naman gaanong byahe ng mga airlines.
RE: jet fuel demand
lowest since 1968
Jet Fuel Demand Plunges to Lowest Level in Decades
In a year of eye-popping aviation statistics, the following may be the most eye-popping yet. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said demand for jet fuel in May was the lowest since 1968. May jet fuel demand fell 67% year-over-year.
This stat starkly illustrates the near-total collapse of air travel. The industry now is much, much larger than it was in 1968 (although, yes, jets back then were much less fuel-efficient). Jet fuel prices are low, down to $1 per gallon in July. You’d have to go back to January 2016 to find jet fuel prices that low, and back to about 2004 for jet fuel prices to regularly be below the $1 threshold, EIA data show.

Is Jollibee operating at a loss with only drive thru and take away? We know that Jollibee caters mostly children, teenagers and young at heart... is the business model of Jollibee shattered also by this pandemic.

During normal times, most restaurants operate with around 70-80% dine-in, 10-30% takeout/delivery.
Now, nasa less than 50% nalang ang dine-in, and with less than half of the usual customers pa.
Also, the delivery apps take a huge percentage from the sales, as much 25%, which eats into the bottom line of the resto.
So, depending on the store location, some stores maybe operating at a loss.
