Hi Guys! Looks like the thread progressed a lot while I was away.

    Anyway, BTT.

Aguirre drilling: I removed my biased hat and listened carefully on how he questions. I think that all he did was to validate the affidavits. Not much on leading questions. So, I would say that it was fair and there was an opportunity given to cross-check the witnesses after the testimonies are done. It would be tough to coach 5 to 6 witnesses and pass the cross examination.

Witnesses under WPP: I think that this was the only offer that can be given to such witnesses. What's to lose? They are already imprisoned. They already have (had?) the power and finances. How would you convince them otherwise?

De Lima out; Gordon in: As chairman, she could have done better. There were lapses and the direction of the proceedings are no longer clear as it looks like everyone is surprised on every decision. You may say that I am biased due to my support for Du30 but I can appreciate good chairmanship regardless. Enrile did excellently during his chairmanship

Matobato Gentleman: Oh man. What gives? He may know something but there's no way he can prove it. In that state, he is considered just a storyteller.

    EDIT:
6 Month Extension: I never thought that the 6 month timeline was sufficient. However, I would have worded this differently if I were Du30, Abella, or Andanar. I would have said to the media: "It has been 6 months and we see a great decline on drugs and crime. We consider that a success as it was never done before. Let's ensure it stays this way and for that to happen, we'll continue the campaign for 6 more months while addressing other issues."

A source told INQUIRER.net that some 20 crime bosses, mostly drug lords inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), were contributing to the kill-Duterte fund.

I think we should see both the Senate and House hearings for what they are.

Salvos fired in the Duterte - De Lima word war.

I think Matobato comes off as more genuine, since he seems to be generally uncoached and inconsistent. - That said, while he is undoubtedly a hitman, as confirmed by PNP Chief Bato, I doubt he was part of any inner circle around Duterte, due to the inconsistencies in his testimony.

Disappointed. De Lima has been on the DDS case for years, and this is all she has? Pitiful.

    As for the Bilibid Boys:

To have half a dozen witnesses give consistent and corroborating accounts reeks of good coaching. Especially if the events are from long ago. Details will change. Stories will waver. Most likely these testimonies, whether true or not, were written, re-arranged and memorized, to make them more fluid and consistent.

    -

I believe that De Lima was acting poorly as Committee head... to the point of keeping other committee members in the dark regarding her evidence and witnesses. But it's unprecedented for a Senator to be removed from a committee simply for misconduct, without any Ethics committee hearings or whatnot.

Look, Ping Lacson was a fugitive for a year, and the Senate did not turn against him. Senators like Miriam and Trillanes go on incredible rants, and are out of order so often that it's unbelievable... no action.

De Lima brings one surprise witness... boom. You're out.

Not that there isn't some karma in this, where she acted as PNoy's hatchetman, violating the law at points to get the job done (even defying the Supreme Court)... but this is simply incredible.

I would have let her go on, tell her that the Matobato testimony has nothing to do with the current spate of EJKs, and let her hang herself with a mile of rope, if she really insists on doing things out of order.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    I think that's weird logic

    Inconsistent testimony = genuine witness
Well presented testimony = planted witness

Baligtad na mag-isip tao ngaun lol

    May tama ka brad.

Well matobato is very consistent naman sa pagiging inconsistent nya.

Pansin ko lang, yung mga mayayaman, gaya dito sa tsikot, parang ayaw nila kay Pdigong.

Kung ayaw nyo po kay Digong, sino sinusuportahan nyo?
