Well, apparently, every time you make an observation about Duterte that isn't fawningly exuberant, you're an underaged Noytard-loving anti-Filipino crab-mentality hater. Can't help needing disclaimers.

I am not pro- or anti-Duterte, but I have been watching his campaign. There are some positives, but it's bloody obvious that many of his followers didn't pay attention to the negatives.
Noynoy, with all his weaknesses, was largely successful because he was a President favored by the West. The US wants a President they can control & deal with easily as an allie, thus he was (or we were) rewarded for it. Our economy improved & life generally became easier. But there was still the presence of the rising crime rate which were largely ignored by Pnoy (&Gloria, for that matter). This is the battle cry of Digong, to stamp out crime in 6 months. Never mind the human rites abuses he committed in the past, the filipinos feel safer with him on the helm. That is what propelled him to the Presidency. All we can do is hope for the best. But as what an American acquaintance once said, during the campaign period "Filipinos are strange, they don't vote for the best, they vote for the worst."

Ah the west... aktibista mentality. Tingnan natin if China will reward us now.

6 months? Joke lang daw yan at ang human rights abuses nya never stopped by the way.

Makikipag negotiate pa sya sa ASG ngayon and not only that, he is also asking to give him 6 years to solve the country's terrorism problem.

Basta pag dating kay digong lahat joke lang.

This assumes the "West" is a monopolitical, monolithic entity that has the ability to control other governments. Well, the "West" can't even control its own backyard. Noy was rewarded because he continued a generally favorable economic program, started tax and business reforms that helped the industry and assured foreign investors of the stability needed to conduct business here. The "West" doesn't control Bandai, Toyota or Mitsubishi, or the Chinese investors who've been setting up shop here.

When we talk about Western manipulation, we are used to thinking of the CIA and the US Military as being in charge... and indeed, CIA intervention in the past in Banana Republics like the Philippines has been disastrous. But at this point, with a more liberal US government in charge, the US, while still pushing its political agendas, is not taking a solitary role in the territorial dispute here... instead, it is being supported by Japan and Australia... and hopefully Malaysia and Indonesia... and the Philippines... well... if Mar or Grace had won. As it is, with Duterte's hemming and hawing over the West China Sea issue, we can only wait and see what his final stance is.

A united bloc pushing for free navigation in the area would be optimal... with the Philippines part of that bloc. But if China sees us as a wedge to push between Malaysian/Indonesian and Japanese territorial waters, then the tensions will simply continue.

The crime rate is a problem, but one that was already being addressed, in a way. Without the use of emergency powers and extrajudicial killing.

True, all we can do is hope for the best. I am heartened to see that some of Du30's cabinet choices are pushing for real structural change. I just hope the non-optimal ones really do get the boot if they **** up.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

'Crooked' cops snub 48-hour deadline to surrender

"Iyung nasa hanay po ng PNP na sumuko, wala pa po tayong data... We're waiting for them to surrender, especially iyung na-identify na grupo, iyung 'ninja group' na sinabi pa nga po ni chief PNP Dela Rosa," Carlos told radio dzMM.

In a speech after assuming office, Dela Rosa said Friday that corrupt policemen, especially those belonging to the so-called "ninja group" that recycles confiscated drugs, must "surrender in 48 hours or die."
Yung tatlong generals daw ayaw pangalanan tapos eto nanaman "Ninja Group."

Taragis kalbo mag trabaho ka, pangalanan mo yan, pa imbestigahan mo, at kasohan. Pero bago yan, unahin mo muna yang "tatlong general"

Nostradamus na din ang mga yan.

Do note though, PGong will do this via EO. The correct way is gumawa ng batas para covered lahat, sign the bill as urgent and let's see if he can pull this off.

What made you look at FMJR? FMJR per se or the Marcoses as a whole? Maybe this will help us understand why the likes of FMJR almost made a comeback.

Going back to Digong, one of the first orders is seeking emergency powers to curb traffic, initial words i hear (not confirmed but this is what i heard during dinner discussion):
    - banning cars older than 15 years;
    - going for an odd-even scheme.

If he has emergency powers, he can implement these without batting an eyelash right?

There was a memo or piece of paper circulating daw na may mga 15-20 something na gagwin nga to ease traffic. Kasama nga dalwang yan pati yung opening of private subdivisions roads pero itinanggi yan ni Andanar. Weird thing though is lagi nababanggit yan sa TV. If there is smoke, there's fire.

    O baka joke lang ulit?

LTFRB is now studying to remove odd-even scheme on PUVs.

Digong is the best president the Philippines will ever have.
He's God made for the universe he's the epitome of manhood. but, but I didn't vote for him...
