Officially walang senator from Duterte camp

No more senatorial slate for Duterte-Cayetano team | INQUIRER.net Mobile

I wonder what will be the senators' allegiance by July 1. How will Digong push his legislative agenda in both Houses.

Interesting times ahead. Let's see if he'll employ patronage politics like what he did with the Davao City Council since the 90s

None (yet?). Peter Lavina, Duterte’s spokesman and part of the inner circle, just hit back on the Left for criticizing harshly their 8 point economic agenda. His FB post:

"A mistake not corrected becomes an error. A mistake may not be intentional, but to commit the same could be fatal. Leftist groups have rejected the hands of friendship and cooperation by the incoming Duterte administration by mouthing their usual criticism of others but not undertaking their own criticism, self-criticism.
They made a patented error in reading the national situation and made a grave one in pulsing the mood of our people. They did it in 1985 and did it again in the 2016 election. They boycotted the election in 1986 and went with another candidate 30 years later. For groups that claim that they are patriotic, nationalist and anti-imperialist, many were aghast in their decision to go with someone who abandoned our country and once pledged allegiance to the US.
At least their units in Mindanao which were more grounded did not go with the selfish, myopic and opportunist posturing of its national higher organs. In their desire to push one of their national officials to be senator, they rush to a hasty decision rejecting calls to wait for the maturing of the political situation before deciding. Having done these mistakes, they want to continue with their old ways of critiquing, critiquing, critiquing. I am truly sorry for these leftist groups which will be left out in the march of history with their dogma and belligerent styles and methods of work. They need to right their wrongs and stop becoming roadblocks to genuine change. They should bring down their utopian dreams closer to reality. Sustained gains even little by little here and there to advance the cause of the masses are better than none at all. To perpetuate the sufferings of the masses is treasonous, a betrayal to serve them.
Their ways of pressuring others with the barrel of the gun and noise by the minority are now passe.
Here is an unsolicited advice to them - dialogue with the incoming government instead of mounting black propaganda to be heard. And listen to your units in Mindanao. Otherwise, you will be proving to be yet another bunch of trapos."

A shame they couldn't just kill each other off instead. My uncle was an ex-PA Ranger and he had no problems helping NPAs die for their beliefs.

We have to admit here that digong endorsement doesn't gave too much weight on the votes garnered by TesdaMan given that De Lima is still in the top 12. Case in point is Tolentino, where is he right now? A million votes away from de Lima right?

Yun kay tolention kasi iniwan sya sa ere ng LP dahil sa hiring ng dirty dancer. Tapos biglang no choice eh humanap ng makakampihan. At number 13 sa senatorial race eh mataas para kay tolention yan. Sa kapalpakan nya sa MMDA eh marami ayaw jan. And also wala ata tv commercial yung senatorial lineup ni duterte. Lahat sa miting de avance sa luneta lang nakilala. Even martin roumualdez too late na. Mahirap kasi botohin pag balimbing.

Yung combination kasi na nakita ng tao na ini-endorsed ni father villanueva si duterte made the protestant united. CCF, VCF....etc

Everyone’s heading to Davao—to try and win favor

Everyone’s heading to Davao—to try and win favor | Inquirer lifestyle

Begone, sycophants and favor seekers! That must be what’s on the mind of presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte, who, we’re told, is holed up in a mountain resort for now and has made himself temporarily incommunicado to de-stress from the brutal campaign season.

The tough-talking Davao mayor has certainly earned his moment of rest. But apparently many now see in his victory their own ticket to power and advantage.

Duterte’s one other reason for laying low for now—so we’ve heard—is to avoid the hordes of applicants, influence peddlers, business interests and sundry operators who’ve descended on Davao, booking the city’s hotels to capacity, in the hopes of getting an audience with the future Malacañang tenant.

Duterte has said he’ll ban his relatives from the Palace. The prohibition should extend to anyone trying to curry favor from him at the expense of the clean, reformist, pro-people agenda he’s promised.

PSEi retests 7,400 on Duterte’s economic agenda

    By: Doris Dumlao-Abadilla, May 13th, 2016 04:25 PM

LOCAL stocks sizzled on Friday, lifting the main stock barometer to the 7,400 mark, as investors welcomed the economic agenda unveiled by incoming president Rodrigo Duterte.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index racked up 111.75 points or 1.53 percent to close at a nine-month high of 7,436.79, bucking the downturn across regional markets.

“The market was pleasantly surprised…There is an economic agenda after all,” said veteran stock broker Joseph Roxas, president of Eagle Equities Inc.

There was P670 million net foreign buying at the local market for the day.

Elsewhere in the region on Friday, stock markets were mostly lower on global growth woes.

At the local market, holding firms – a proxy to the domestic economy – led the PSEi’s rise with its 3.13 percent gain. The financial counter also rallied by 2.29 percent while the industrial counter rose by 1.14 percent. The services counter posted a modest gain.

The mining/oil counter fell by 0.49 percent while property sub-index slipped by 0.14 percent. Duterte did not mention mining in his broad agenda but as mayor, he has banned mining in Davao City.

As the unveiled agenda also VOWED TO CONTINUE AND MAINTAIN THE CURRENT MACROECONOMIC POLICIES set by the outgoing administration led by Pres. Aquino, this reduced the continuity risk earlier priced in by investors. Duterte’s camp also PLEDGED TO ACCELERATE INFRASTRUCTURE SPENDING USING THE PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM.

Adopting a stance long sought by investors, Duterte’s camp also vowed to address the restrictive economic policies in the Constitution and laws in enhancing the competitive of doing business.

On Friday, value turnover at the stock market amounted to P12.89 billion. There were 112 advancers that edged out 78 decliners while 49 stocks were unchanged.

Investors loaded up on shares of AC and Metrobank, which both rose by over 5 percent and were the most actively traded stock in the market. JG Summit and Petron both rallied by over 4 percent while SMIC and Megaworld surged by 3.43 percent.

GTCAP, MPI and Jollibee all gained over 2 percent while ALI also contributed a modest gain.

Although not part of the PSEi, Security Bank rose by 5.83 percent as it was included in the main MSCI Philippines index. At MSCI’s small cap index, three companies were added – Xurpas, Bloomberry and Century Pacific Food.

Another notable gainer outside of the PSEi was community mall developer DoubleDragon, which surged by 13.43 percent on optimism that Duterte’s greater attention to development in Visayas and Mindanao will boost this company’s business.

On the other hand, SM Prime tumbled by 4.42 percent while PLDT slipped by 1.15 percent.

Since the start of the year, the PSEi has gained by 6.97 percent.

    president: general, kiss my ass!
general: yes sir! do i include your ass hole and balls, sir?

ito na, lumutang na ang pangalan ni PCSUPT Dela Rosa. goodbye seniority rule.

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine president-elect Rodrigo Duterte revealed his top choices to lead the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), led by a combat veteran who was twice spurned for top leadership posts under the Aquino administration.

Speaking to media in Davao City on Sunday, May 15, he said that for the AFP, he was considering Lt. General Ricardo Visaya for the position of AFP chief of staff.

A 1983 graduate of the Philippine Military Academy, Visaya is currently the commander of the AFP’s Southern Luzon command. He was shortlisted for the positions of Army chief and AFP chief, respectively, under the Aquino administration, but did not make it.

Visaya earned his stripes as a commander in Central Luzon at the height of the Arroyo administration's offensive against communist guerrillas in the region and when Hermogenes Esperon Jr was chief of staff. (READ: Hacienda Luisita commander is contender for AFP chief)

Visaya is retiring in December 2016. And Esperon himself is reported to play a key role in the Duterte cabinet.

Three former Davao City police chiefs are the top candidates for PNP chief. These are Chief Inspector Ronald dela Rosa, brigade commander of the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) who was relieved from his post after declaring his support for Duterte on Facebook, Chief Inspector Ramon Apolinario, Mimaropa police officer-in-charge, and Sr. Supt. Rene Aspera, chief of staff of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group.

Duterte spoke highly of the 3 policemen based on their performance as Davao City police chiefs.

“I cannot say anything against their tenure here. It was all good,” he said in a mix of English and Filipino.

The 3, he said, would have to “discuss amongst themselves” who would get the post as he said all of them are fit for the job.

Visaya, for his part, told Rappler that nothing is final yet. Duterte met with Visaya and the 3 police officers in Davao City Sunday.

Dela Rosa, who is from Davao City, was relieved of his post a week before the May 9 elections due to reports of him openly supporting the presidential bid of Duterte.

In a Facebook post before his relief, Dela Rosa said, “I am the Brigade Commander of the PNP-RSSF composed of 8,000 battalions close to 5,000 personnel based in Camp Crame. Kayong mga mandaraya at manliligalig ngayong May 9 elections, humanda na kayo! We will crush you! Kung sa bisaya pa, 'Ligsan Ta Mo!'" (“I am the Brigade Commander of the PNP-RSSF composed of 8,000 battalions close to 5,000 personnel based in Camp Crame. Those who will cheat and will manipulate this May 9 elections, be warned! We will crush you!).

He also tagged known supporters of Duterte in the post.

The country’s first Minadanaoan president has said peace and order would be a major focus of his presidency. His entire platform of suppressing crime within 3 to 6 months hinges on his plan to deploy both military and police to crack down on criminals, especially drug lords, arrest them or kill them if they put up a violent resistance.

His decades as Davao City mayor saw him creating a joint military and police task force to tackle crime, terrorism, and insurgency. – Rappler.com
